About Us

We are the New Product Development, Category Programme Management team. A hands‑on, delivery‑focused group that thrives on solving problems and making things work better. Operating at the heart of the business, we turn complexity into clarity by driving operational discipline, improving ways of working, and enabling our categories to perform at their best.

We value autonomy, practical problem‑solving, and clear communication, and we work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to get things done. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, taking ownership, and having real impact, you’ll feel right at home with us.

About the Role

The Business Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within the NPD Categories Programme team. This role is responsible for translating strategic ideas and transformation initiatives into actionable, measurable, and scalable plans. You will build and implement systems, dashboards, and tools that enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and embed innovative ways of working across the function.

This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role suited to someone who can lead from the front, influence at all levels, and “make things happen” by turning concepts into operational reality. The ideal candidate combines strong IT capability, a transformation mindset, leadership presence, and the resilience to see initiatives through to successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Transformation & Execution

  • Support the Head of Programmes, NPD Categories in translating strategic ideas into clear, structured, and measurable task-based plans.

  • Lead operational improvement initiatives end-to-end, from scoping and design through to implementation and adoption.

  • Ensure all initiatives drive genuine transformation, improving productivity, efficiency, and clarity of ways of working across the team.

  • Maintain strong ownership of outcomes, seeing initiatives through to completion with resilience and a solutions-focused mindset.

Systems, Tools & Technology Integration

  • Develop and maintain IT systems, dashboards, and visualisation tools (e.g., KPI dashboards, reporting frameworks) that support performance tracking and decision-making.

  • Identify opportunities to embed technology, automation, or intelligent assistance (IA) into daily workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual work.

  • Drive the digitisation of key processes, evaluating and implementing tools that optimise programme delivery and operational management.

Stakeholder Leadership & Influence

  • Work autonomously to influence change across a variety of stakeholder levels, including senior management, cross-functional partners, and operational teams.

  • Facilitate alignment and adoption of new processes, ensuring stakeholders understand the rationale, the benefits, and their role in successful execution.

  • Communicate complex or technical ideas in a clear, practical, and actionable manner.

Programme Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish new operational frameworks and governance models to strengthen programme discipline and delivery confidence.

  • Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks and proactively propose solutions.

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, elevating the maturity of systems and processes within the team.

About You

  • Strong IT and systems capability, with experience developing dashboards, tools, and digital solutions that support business operations.

  • Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change autonomously and win adoption across diverse teams.

  • Experience implementing medium to large-scale enterprise-level system or process changes.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Ability to work at both a strategic and hands-on operational level; willing to roll up your sleeves and build solutions first-hand.

  • Resilient, proactive, and outcomes-driven, with the ability to stay focused on the bigger picture while managing details effectively.

  • Familiarity with modern workplace tools (e.g., Power BI, advanced Microsoft Excel, project management platforms, workflow automation tools).

  • Experience in programme management, business transformation, operations, or PMO environments.

  • Background in data visualisation, workflow automation, or intelligent process improvement.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Systems and dashboards you create become indispensable tools for the team.

  • Operational processes run more smoothly, with clearer structure and stronger execution.

  • Stakeholders feel supported, aligned, and engaged in transformation initiatives.

  • The team operates with improved efficiency, consistency, and productivity.

  • You are seen as a trusted advisor, technical problem-solver, and enabler of better ways of working.

  • Your autonomous and have a good eye for when to communicate to your leadership team.
