Direct Retail Manager

As Retail Manager for Dyson’s Benelux Direct Retail Stores, you’ll drive performance, lead a team of store managers, and deliver consistently exceptional brand experience in every store. You’ll shape strategy, execute with precision, and turn our retail environment into iconic destinations for customers. Your commercial acumen and hands-on approach will maximize growth, operational excellence, and consumer loyalty.

Dyson Benelux operates a portfolio of premium, direct-owned retail locations. Our goal is to drive consistent growth across our current stores, while remaining primed to expand when the right opportunities arise. We’re focused on delivering outstanding results and elevating the Dyson brand wherever we open our doors.

Responsibilities

Store Leadership & Commercial Strategy

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of Store Managers, ensuring stores achieve and exceed sales, conversion, and customer experience targets.
  • Develop, implement, and review the retail strategy for direct stores (annual and quarterly), aligned to Dyson’s mid- and long-term business priorities.
  • Drive sales initiatives for new launches, promotions, and seasonal activities, adapting to market and consumer trends in Benelux.
  • Translate strategy into actionable store plans—including team development, engagement, and execution of core KPIs.

Performance Management & Accountability

  • Track and analyze monthly retail KPIs: sales, conversion rate, ATV, UPT, and OPEX. Identify performance gaps and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure consistent execution of store standards: product demonstrations, service excellence, visual merchandising, and brand compliance.
  • Report performance to leadership weekly and monthly, recommending improvement actions and commercial opportunities.

Store Operations Excellence

  • Oversee operational processes for all direct stores: stock management, replenishment, shrinkage control, loss/damage resolution, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Work closely with the Retail Operations Manager to deliver accurate monthly stock reconciliations, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Maintain high standards of in-store hygiene, safety, and brand presentation.

Team Development & Coaching

  • Recruit, develop, and retain Store Managers and teams, championing Dyson culture and values.
  • Implement and drive training programs for product knowledge, selling skills, and customer experience.
  • Champion a culture of performance, accountability, and recognition celebrate wins and coach for improvement.

Campaigns, Promotions, and Local Activation

  • Coordinate in-store campaigns, local marketing activations, product launches, and events to drive traffic and maximize sell-out.
  • Manage execution of brand and promotional guidelines as briefed by trade marketing and wider retail team.
  • Work with marketing and finance to monitor budget spend, ensuring cost control and ROI on initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the main link between stores and internal functions (inventory, marketing, trade marketing, retail operations).
  • Provide feedback to category, product, and digital teams on market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights.
  • Manage escalations and complex customer service cases, supporting stores to resolution.

Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure all stores are compliant with Dyson policies & processes: cash handling, opening/closing protocol, health & safety, GDPR, and loss prevention.
  • Oversee store audits and action plans, maintaining Dyson’s standards and governance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven multi-site retail management experience (5+ years), ideally in premium consumer or technology sector.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with a track record of delivering results.
  • Hands-on leader, with demonstrated ability to inspire and develop teams.
  • Experience driving in-store campaigns, events, and activations.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
