Introduction to Dyson:

Dyson is a British technology company that designs and manufactures vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heaters and hair dryers.  It sells its products in over 70 countries and employs more than 7,000 people worldwide.  Dyson’s products known for their high performance and breakthrough designs.  Dyson products were introduced into China market 10 years ago by distributor, and Dyson China was officially founded in 2014 due to the fast growth of demand.  By 2023, Dyson has grown its business in China, and we are looking to grow again substantially in 2024.  

Overview – department:

The EC Head, Tmall is responsible for overseeing the overall strategy, performance, and growth of Dyson’s Tmall business. This role leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives to drive market-leading sales growth, expand market share, and enhance business performance, while managing a team and fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Define and execute the long-term strategic vision for the Tmall business, setting ambitious sales targets, market penetration goals, and business performance metrics aligned with overall company objectives.

·         Own Tmall yearly/quarterly/monthly business planning and operating rhythm; drive target achievement through robust forecasting, performance tracking, and continuous optimization.

·         Leverage business monitoring and tracking with excellent operations to identify risks and gaps early; drive business opportunities through data-driven proposals and effective execution.

·         Build strong and close partnership with Tmall/Alibaba stakeholders: initiate regular business reviews, proactively negotiate for trading/marketing resources, and ensure best resource landing to maximize sell-out.

·         Lead and develop the Tmall team (including hiring, coaching, and performance management) to ensure high performance and a healthy talent pipeline.

·         Drive end-to-end execution for key commercial moments (e.g., 618, Double 11, Super Brand Day) including objectives setting, activity strategy, on-site resource securing, and post-campaign review.

·         Work with cross functional teams (paid media, livestream, content, CRM, customer service, supply chain, trade marketing, finance, legal etc.) and the broader Alibaba ecosystem to ensure integrated business development and operational excellence.

·         Manage key store fundamentals including assortment planning, merchandising, pricing & promotion governance, and consumer experience to improve conversion and sustainable growth.

·         Own investment efficiency and ROI on Tmall by aligning onsite traffic strategy (search/display/feeds), content, and livestreaming; continuously optimize funnel metrics.

Report regularly to senior leadership on business performance, key initiatives progress, risks and insights; provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Skills / Experience Required:

·         10+ years of experience in ecommerce, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale Tmall business and driving significant sales growth.

·         Deep expertise in Alibaba/Tmall platform ecosystem (store operations, marketing, media/investment, and partnership models), with a proven track record of leveraging platform resources for success.

·         Strong platform management capability with excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

·         Proven people leadership: ability to build, lead and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

·         Strong business acumen and analytical capability: able to translate data/insights into business opportunities, clear action plans and measurable results.

·         Drive for results and motivating partners; resilient and able to work under pressure with multiple priorities.

·         Open to content creation and new growth approaches; ambitious to grow fast with positive thinking.

Chinese and English proficiency; English can be used as a working language.
