Finance Analyst – In House Manufacturing Finance
Description:
The In House Manufacturing (IHM) Finance Team serves as the core finance business partner for Dyson’s IHM Operations function comprising of global manufacturing activities of Dyson Digital Motors (DDM). The team plays an important role in ensuring financial governance and control across IHM operations, while partnering closely with stakeholders to deliver key enterprise objectives.
We are seeking a Finance Analyst to join our IHM Finance Team, with a primary focus on driving financial discipline, strengthening inventory control governance, and ensuring accuracy of inventory balances across internal and external sites. This role requires a good foundation in inventory accounting, and controls, combined with the ability to business partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Operations, and external manufacturing partners. The incumbent will play a key role in ensuring integrity of inventory reporting, identifying risks, and driving resolution of discrepancies in a timely and structured manner.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of Dyson’s in house manufacturing technology and processes.
The role is based in Singapore and reports to the Finance Manager – IHM Finance.
Accountabilities:
Inventory Governance and Control:
- Establish and enforce robust governance over materials, finished goods, and consigned inventory
- Ensure accurate and complete inventory records, supported by clear documentation and audit trails through investigating and resolving discrepancies in inventory records in a timely manner
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations teams to strengthen process discipline and control adherence
- Identify control gaps and drive improvements to enhance inventory integrity
- Inventory Counts & Validation:
- Oversee and monitor physical cycle counts and year-end counts to ensure adherence to established procedures and accuracy of physical inventories
- Ensure counts are conducted in accordance with corporate policies and internal controls
- Analyze cycle count and year-end count results and collaborate with the Supply Chain operations team to address root causes of any discrepancies and issues identified during cycle counts
- Track and drive continuous improvements in the count process
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in closing activities and the preparation of monthly and annual IHM financial reports related to inventory
- Provide clear and concise analysis of inventory movements, trends, and variances
- Highlight risks and opportunities to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making
- Support auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to inventory balances
Business Partnering:
- Act as a trusted finance partner to Supply Chain, and external partners (CMs)
- Drive accountability for inventory management cross-functionally
- Provide financial insights to support operational decision-making and cost control
- Support ad hoc analysis to address business questions and emerging issues
Skills:
- Qualified Accountant or equivalent post-graduate qualification
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in finance business partnering, preferably withing manufacturing or supply chain environments
- Strong expertise in inventory control and reconciliation
- Strong analytical skills and Excel skills; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
- Naturally inquisitive, comfortable interrogating existing processes and systems and problem-solve
- Experience working across functions and cultures, with remote teams
- Excellent personal and business presentation skills, particularly in presenting financial information to non-finance and external stakeholders
- Assertive and able to influence peers and upwards
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Independent, with a strong sense of operational discipline and ability to meet deadlines
