JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Robotics Program Manager (CN)

The Role:

This role is based on Shen Zhen, China.

You are a highly-organized Software Project Manager to coordinate and oversee the progress of our robotics software development projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and leading robotics software projects from ideation to completion by a close collaboration with robotics development team located in Singapore and China-based contract OEM/ODM vendors. 

The ideal candidate should have a detailed understanding of software development methodologies, excellent team management skills, and the ability to track and control project scope, time and budget to ensure the successful delivery of our robotics software projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress, manage project timelines, allocate resources, and ensure project deliverables meeting quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Risk management: identify potential risks and implement solutions to mitigate them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to stakeholders and manage project progress effectively
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Continuous improvement, drive innovation and improve product quality through research and analysis.

Key Skills / Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of software development or project management.
  • Experience in roles such as senior software developer, robotics behavioural software developer, or project lead with good knowledge about robotics software stack, such as SLAM, path planning, behavioural trees, mapping, behavioural simulation, etc.
  • Experience in project management and in-depth knowledge of software development processes.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in embedded software development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and technical skills in software development methodologies to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A bachelor's degree or above in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in project management or software development is preferred.
  • Good product sense and keen focus on product performance; being able to quickly understand product requirements.
  • In-depth participation in feature design discussions will be required
  • Professionalism and excellent communication skills; ability to communicate complex information at every level.
  • Independent, Integrity and self-driven with a strong focus on results to ensure that the whole team succeeds in its goals.
  • Expertise and experience in embedded system development, including protocol, architecture, behaviours, security, etc, is a plus.
  • PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
