Role Overview
The Service Parts Specialist is responsible for creating, validating, and maintaining Master Parts List (MPL) documentation to support new product launches and ongoing product lifecycle management. This role ensures that serviceable parts, assemblies, and configurations are accurate, validated, and ready for customer support across global markets.
Working closely with internal cross‑functional teams and Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) partners, the Service Parts Specialist plays a critical role in enabling effective aftersales and service readiness from launch through end of life.
Key Responsibilities
Master Parts List (MPL) Management
- Create complete, accurate MPL documentation for new products developed with JDM partners.
- Maintain and update MPLs post‑launch, ensuring all product, component, and configuration changes are accurately captured.
- Review products for MPL readiness and formally sign off MPLs prior to release.
Product Launch & Change Support
- Support new product introductions by ensuring service parts and assemblies are validated, fit‑ready, and available for global markets.
- Assist the Product Change team with service‑related change requirements and documentation updates.
- Conduct teardown analysis of test rigs and products to define correct service and spare part offerings.
Cross‑Functional & Market Support
- Create and present concise service one‑pagers for new products at cross‑functional Customer Service briefings.
- Support global service and market teams with spare part queries and requests.
- Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Commercial, Marketing, Refurbishment, and Service teams, as well as external JDM partners.
Performance & Quality
- Deliver against defined KPIs for service readiness, documentation quality, and timeliness.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all service documentation to minimise downstream market queries and rework.
Key Requirements
Degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical discipline.
Related vocational, technical, or industry certifications will be considered an advantage.
Proven experience in service parts, aftersales, service readiness, product lifecycle management, or a related engineering/manufacturing support role.
Hands‑on experience working with parts lists, bills of materials, service documentation, or product configurations.
Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI) or product changes in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong ability to work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Service, and Commercial teams.
Practical, hands‑on product experience, including disassembly and reassembly of complex products or assemblies.
Preferred
Experience working with external manufacturing partners or Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) partners.
Experience supporting global markets or regional service teams.
Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g. Teamcenter or equivalent).
Ability to interpret CAD data, drawings, or engineering documentation.
Experience in consumer electronics, appliances, electromechanical products, or similar industries.
