Internships

Internships and placements are great ways to get a taste of working at Dyson. Like an extended interview, it’s your chance to learn more – and our chance to see if you fit the Dyson way: persistent, fearless and ambitious. Working on live projects, you’ll have a chance to make a real impact. And secure a full time grad role for when you leave uni.

  • Engineering internships

Our engineering internships last three, six or twelve months. Each one gives you the opportunity to take on real projects and gain experience in our top secret Research, Design & Development (RDD) department.

You’ll be supported by a full induction. And a development programme that ensures you learn a breadth of engineering skills. Most importantly, if you make the most of the opportunity, we’ll look to make a Graduate offer of employment for when you complete your degree.

    Requirements:

The internship programme is competitive so you’ll need to be academically strong and have the right to work in the country of your application. You’ll be studying a technical degree, such as: computer science, robotics, product design, design engineering, industrial design, design and innovation, mechanical engineering, electronic, electrical or software engineering, or physics, biology or chemistry.

  • Finance placements

Typically, a one–year finance placement gives you the chance to dig into real problems from the start – contributing as much as you’re learning.

You’ll be supported by a full induction into life at Dyson, and our programme will immerse you into the role. If you make the most of the opportunity, we’ll look to make a graduate employment offer for when you finish your studies.

    Requirements:

You’ll need to be currently at university, looking for a 12-month placement as part of your analytical degree. You’ll be accessing sensitive commercial data and dealing with people across the business, so you’ll need to demonstrate strong numeracy and communication skills. You’ll also need to show drive and enthusiasm about starting a career in Finance and studying for a professional qualification.

  • HR placements

Get immersed in the daily running of a busy Human Resources department with a 12-month placement. You’ll be performing a real operational role, which may include responding to employee requests, supporting line managers and assisting in recruitment and new starter inductions. Taking real responsibility from day one. You’ll be contributing in your role within a team, but there’ll be a variety of projects to get involved with, broadening your exposure to the role of HR in a rapidly growing business. Show us what you can do and there may be an offer of a graduate role upon graduation.

    Requirements:

You’ll need to be organised yet flexible, as effective working with your own agenda as you are collaborating in a team. Skilled in building relationships, ready to challenge your understanding and keen to develop knowledge. Your degree subject is less relevant, but it’s an analytical role, so a head for data is as important as are your communication skills. Critically, you’ll need to impress us with your understanding of HR.
