Description

As an Assistant Accountant within the Finance Centre of Excellence (FCoE) you will responsible for supporting the management accounting and reporting for the GB and Ireland markets.  Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager and supporting the GB&I Accountant, you will partner with our Commercial Finance colleagues in Malmesbury to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial information in a consistent and lean manner for GB&I.
The role is within the Month-End Hub who support all Dyson European entities, acting as a link between the FCoE, Group Finance and the local Market teams.

Accountabilities

  • Support the Month End close for GB&I to prescribed deadlines with no material misstatements.
  • Ensure all Month End reports & KPIs are delivered in line with the FCoE/Market SLA.
  • Safeguard Dyson financials via application of accounting policies and guidelines and robust balance sheet reconciliations prepared on time.
  • Assist with harmonisation and standardisation of the month end processes across the markets.
  • Support the provision of data in relation to annual Statutory Accounts and Tax submissions.
  • Support the year end external audit requirements and any Company Secretarial deliverables.
  • Support on Cash flow forecasting and analysis of working capital.
  • Ensure knowledge of markets both from a controls and commercial stand point are maintained.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the markets (Commercial Finance teams).
  • Support the provision of Customer Board Pack commentary and metrics, ensuring it is relevant and informative to drive valuable discussion.
  • Work at the same pace as Dyson, understanding any changes impacting FCoE and effectively addressing / embedding them in a timely manner.
  • Fulfil any other ad hoc responsibilities as directed by the Accountant for GB&I, Regional Finance Manager or Financial Controller.

Skills

Essential:
  • Degree level education or equivalent (AAT)
  • Ability to organise and prioritise in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intermediate IT skills – Microsoft
  • Proactive approach with great problem solving skills.
  • Highly motivated to achieve results
  • Proactively highlights and progresses solutions for issues identified
  • Good team player: capable of working effectively with finance and non-finance managers
  • Ability and desire to travel across Europe on a regular basis (estimated 10%)
Desirable:
  • Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA)
  • Advanced IT skills – Microsoft & SAP
