Our Treasury team is responsible for:

  • Delivering treasury policy and strategy for the Group
  • Ensuring that the Group is appropriately funded (there are three private placements, plus drawings under seven revolving credit facility [RCF] bilaterals)
  • Managing day to day liquidity (over 200 bank accounts in six cash pools)
  • Managing foreign exchange risk (c. £13bn per annum of FX transactions)

About the role

Reporting to, and deputising for, the Group Treasurer, you will be responsible for delivery and development of a wide range of global treasury activities as required flexibly from time to time. You will look after the Front Office and Middle Office in the UK, and significant interaction with senior advisors and colleagues including members of the group executive.

You will work closely with the Director of Tax & Treasury, Group Treasurer, Treasury Controller, Head of APAC Treasury, and other members of the Front and Back Offices to ensure delivery of best practice in Dyson’s global treasury activities.

This wide and varying remit could include any of the following aspects from time to time:

  • The core part of the role is to look after and line manage the UK Front Office and Middle Office staff in their daily-monthly execution of core operations
    • For Front office, this includes cash/liquidity management, bringing together the group’s FX exposures and hedging them, consolidating and managing the group’s cash forecasting process, as well as intercompany loan monitoring & management
    • For Middle Office this includes the activities to facilitate the operation of Front and Back Offices – bank account set up & management, ISDAs, guarantees, NDAs, systems and process maintenance, projects etc
    • Ensure all essential treasury operations are delivered either by cover within the team or by yourself
  • Working with senior colleagues across the globe and at executive level, including the CFO and Group Legal Counsel. Working with senior advisors – law firm partners, director level bankers etc.
  • With members of your team, ensure each subsidiary in the West has appropriate funding and cash management tools
  • Pull together the reporting of treasury activities to the Director of Tax & Treasury
  • Writing proposals and reports to the treasury committees
  • Managing projects. Depending on the number of live projects, and the capacity of the managers across Treasury and Tax, they can include systems changes, cash management tenders and implementation, funding etc.
  • Global travel can be required for projects, oversight of cash forecasting and FX management, and working closely with the APAC team
  • Legal: ownership and review of contracts related to treasury activities, or to the wider business, such as the currency aspects of a supplier agreement or distributor agreement
  • Banking: engage with banks to ensure Dyson obtains the best service levels and to build relationships
  • Treasury Management: apply wide-ranging knowledge to enhance policy, focus strategically, facilitate best practice, review operational and project activity, and make committee-reporting come together to a high standard
  • Such other comparable duties as may be required by the Group Treasurer

About you

We need you to have:

  • The MCT or AMCT qualification (ideally an accounting qualification as well)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience of managing international treasury issues, so you can be immediately familiar with the issues and have a range of solutions to hand
  • A strong intellect with excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • Management skills to apply to the immediate team and to pull other staff along in our objectives
  • Dynamism in activity, commitment to deliver and ability to use initiative in resolving issues
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence, commercially minded and able to approach and question colleagues and external professionals to seek out and understand issues
  • Confidence with legal documentation in a financial context
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a less structured, fast moving environment
  • Good project management skills
  • The ability to work in the best interests of the team
