About the role

Purpose Of Position
The Category Manager will be accountable for the Floorcare category along with the Senior Marketing Manager for Floorcare within the Benelux region. You will support in driving strategies that deliver high category performance in terms of both profitability and brand reputation, short- and long-term growth.  This role will work closely with a network of marketing colleagues based in Dyson’s global and local functions to help shape the right category plans to drive success in the Benelux. You will help to define and deliver the commercial strategy for their category, within the context of overall growth strategy in the Benelux and Dyson’s global category ambitions.

Role Overview
This role sits within the Benelux Marketing Team. The Category Manager for Floorcare Benelux is responsible for executing projects that are part of the brand strategy while constantly helping to be the brand guardian.

Support the Senior Marketing manager Floorcare with the commercial category strategy with Cord Free in the driving seat. • Drive and support on ownership of the implementation of the category plans for Floorcare in Benelux.• Own the analysing of market data, customer data and shopper insights to establish new opportunities across the category.  • Be the in-market category advocate, continuously championing its value and commercial potential for the market and the wider Dyson business; exposed to developing the ambition, energy, ideas and tools needed by the market’s trade marketing and sales teams to reach the best possible commercial outcomes from the product set. • Collaborate with peers and colleagues across the market team (retailer sales, direct sales, customer services, marketing) to maximise the impact the category/products has on consumers and (online) retailers (e.g. new product launches, Black Friday, etc.). 

Develop and deliver the marketing/communication plans and marketing strategies for all NPD in the category• Translate the Group commercial product/category strategy into local strategy; clarifying the approach to maximise own market’s opportunity within the context of global plans.• Support the Senior Marketing Manager in creating the commercial launch plans/ media plans, working in conjunction with Group Commercial team and the global approach. Ensure timely execution of all planned launch activities.• Ensure new products are launched successfully through effective leadership across the local market; manage teams to milestones and plan. • Be the category lead for all digital & branded content Floorcare campaigns, working together with the Media Manager, E-commerce Manager and PR manager on the digital plans. • Be the Floorcare owner for collaboration with the Trade Marketing team and digital teams to achieve 5 star in-store and online merchandising of Floorcare products. • Constantly monitor competitors; remain ready to quickly understand the implications of their activities and respond quickly.• Creating the plan and time schedule from day one until launch• Mapping the steps and tasks to be completed by each stake holder and constantly monitoring the status of the launch readiness in high level of detail and adjusting the planning accordingly.• Being the bridge between the teams: Leading the conversations with agencies (Hogarth) and Group for assets, campaign kits, documents.• Tracking the priorities and daily/weekly/monthly tasks and taking action towards what is needed.• Delivering the asset/document/information required by other teams and supporting them with their needs for a successful new product launch.

Drive the commercial success of the floorcare category in collaboration with the Sales function.• Develop understanding of the territory’s customer opportunity.• Analyse in-life product and campaign performance and implications for growth strategies. • Continuously review and re-set tactics as required.• Work closely with Sales and Trade Marketing to deliver the P&L. Proactively propose and agree retail communication, activation and promotions & ensure on time delivery of artworks.   • Participate to the creation of joint business plans with trade marketing to make sure the marketing activations driven by retailers are consistent and aligned to the overall brand strategy.

Leadership• Operate as a people manager for the Marketing Executive/ Intern within the Floorcare team. • Provide guidance, clear priorities and feedback on regular basis to ensure development of talent.   

Fulfil other duties as required.• PO and budget management within the Floorcare category • Managing briefing, creation, translations & on time delivery of all Floorcare assets with Hogarth, Mindshare and Fasthub. • Ensuring solid cooperation with other category teams, sales, digital, direct, retail marketing, Group and other EU market hubs.

About you

• Collaborate and be a team player, have excellent relationships with a network of individuals. • Capable of managing complex and multiple projects • Be able to influence internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of business functions • Traditional and Digital media experience • Strong commercial acumen to understand P&L impact • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Analytical, able to distil data into actionable insight • Commercial acumen to deliver against category goals • Works well under pressure, able to deal with the fast-changing pace of the business  • Creative thinker • Fluent in English • Fluent in Dutch or French

Experience • Minimum 4-6 years product or brand marketing experience in brand, agency, marketing beauty, health, tech• Experience of delivering great results with media agencies • Sound knowledge of both traditional and digital media • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
