Retail 2D Designer APAC

Dyson has an ambitious expansion plan with an ever-increasing focus on the APAC region. We are committed to building our in-store presence to reflect our position as an expanding and leading technology business. 
The role of 2D Designer will sit within our Regional Retail CoE Team (Centre of Excellence), and will work closely with our APAC markets, UK Central Retail Function and Regional Creative Team. 
Central to this role is the ability to understand, and strike a balance between, local market desires and our global creative vision. The role will be responsible for overseeing the flow of 2D assets from our headquarters into markets, acting as the mechanism to ensure that they are relevant to market needs. In this capacity, the focus will be more predominantly on our wholesale channels but will speak to our direct and digital channels as we focus on more being channel agnostic. Key areas will include instore and on-fixture communications; global and local campaigns, demonstration mechanics, global product launches and customer journey messaging.
As the 2D brand guardian for retail in APAC, you will be tasked with ensuring that our retail spaces deliver against our global vision and identity, whilst also speaking directly, and relevantly to a local consumer. On top of content adaptation and creation, you will own and refine the 2D ways of working process, driving efficiency at market level and securing visibility cross-market at a head office level.  Within the Retail CoE APAC, you will closely with our Retail Marketing, 3D Design and Training functions and will report into the Head of Retail CoE – APAC. In addition, you will be guided by our Global Creative Director for CoE, based in the UK.


  • Take ownership and have visibility of all 2D communications across the APAC region in 3rd party retail. 
  • Work with the retail Centre of Excellence Creative Director and the senior retail team to ensure that displays incorporate the latest instore design thinking 
  • Ensure that all work is aligned to the Dyson visual identity guideline 
  • Oversee and input on the creation, development and adaptation of Central Retail Function generated retail assets to ensure regional / market relevance. 
  • Provide conceptual thinking whilst delivering commercially viable solutions. 
  • Define / refine a 2D ways of working process focussing on the internal and external information flow 
  • Be the eyes and ears of the APAC region to brief market relevant requests into the Central Retail Function; conduct market visits to understand retailer and competitor landscapes. 
  • Impose yourself upstream to ensure that centrally generated assets deliver for the APAC region. 
  • Enforce stringent Dyson design standards and govern the movement of assets from the Central Retail Function through the Retail CoE, into markets and ultimately into Retailers. 
  • Maintain and update resource and status reports to ensure effective project governance and upward reporting. 
  • Promote collaboration between the UK based central retail function and APAC markets. 
  • Share best practice and feedback to central retail function 
  •  Manage tight deadlines and prioritise workload


  • +5 years design experience 
  • Experienced user of 2D visualisation software (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop). 
  • Comfortable with using asset management software 
  • Full understanding of art work for print 
  • Retail experience and an appreciation of the needs behind an effective customer journey 
  • Demonstratable experience managing / refining a way of working process for movement of assets between key stakeholders 
  • Experience with creating and enforcing guidelines 
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects under pressure and to tight guidelines 
  • 3D software experience is beneficial (3DS Max or Vectorworks or Cinema 4D). 
  • Time and self-management 
  • Experience in managing third party vendors, checking and approving print ready artworks
  • Experience with design mock-ups to communicate with a range of stakeholders
