CoE Retail 2D Designer APAC

Dyson have an ambitious expansion plan to evolve to a model where 80% of sales are through direct & controlled channels by 2020. This role will be part of the Regional Retail CoE Team (Retail Centre of Excellence), working with all cross functional retail teams across the APAC region and various stakeholders in the markets. The role will rely on the ability to develop outstanding relationships. produce high level quality of work, act as a business partner for the major stakeholders and ensure that Dyson Retail always delivers an exceptional brand experience. They are responsible for graphically supporting our portfolio of retail systems and adapting local models. As well as determining local tactical POS to ensure we maximise Dyson potential especially in the last 10% covering the following scope of work: - Promotions - Campaigns. - Demonstration mechanics - Elevating the roll out of NPD launches by flexing local opportunities. - Support Direct demo store localized campaigns This specific role within the Retail CoE team will work directly both with local markets and 3D design teams and have a strong connection and partnership with the Group Retail C of E Creative Head. Dyson is committed to building its in-store presence to reflect its position as an expanding and leading technology brand. The combined retail team consists of a core multi-disciplined group of creatives, marketers and demonstration experts who create and shape in-store displays communication and trade marketing initiatives across the Dyson global markets. You will ensure that our retail solutions deliver the best possible journey, which will enhance the consumer experiences and demonstration. You will work with the store implementation team on sourcing print and physical solutions for delivering the above. Dyson retail concepts are about machine, demonstration and theatre; the product is the hero and experience is typically assisted by the Dyson experts to deliver an elevated in store consumer experience. You are accountable and responsible for the actionable outcomes from creative reviews with C of E and should follow-up accordingly.


Role and Responsibilities: - Work with the senior retail team to ensure that displays incorporate the latest instore design thinking. - Enforce Dyson brand values in store whilst working within retailer constraints. - Oversee design and development of physical assets where relevant. - Provide conceptual thinking whilst delivering commercially viable solutions. - Brief internal/external teams on new 2D requirements. - Support 2D requirements for all Dyson needs. - Liaise with external suppliers on technical specifications where relevant. - Storyboard new editing requirements. - Prepare by monthly presentation / overview of relevant projects with clear explanation . - Along with key functional stakeholders, own, drive and deliver retail projects that are suitably planned, governed, resourced and managed, working collaboratively in function and across market teams, resolving day to day challenges. - Mitigate and escalate issues where necessary to senior management. Maintain and update resource and status reports to ensure effective project governance and upward reporting. - Lead brainstorming and briefing kick-off meetings and creative review meetings. - Work on multiple projects whilst delivering on challenging deadlines. - Prepare briefs for internal teams based on store, campaign and project requirements. - Activate store visits to research general store environments / fixtures / competitors. - Keep abreast of the latest Dyson product developments to ensure that displays are future proofed. - Keep up to date with latest developments in digital technologies. - Work with the Creative Services team to maintain our brand identity.


Skills, Knowledge & Experience: - High level creativity - Mentor - Articulate with strong communication and people skills - Commercially aware - Ability to see ‘the bigger picture’ - Attention to detail - Collaborator - Problem solver - Can do attitude, passionate and flexible - Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines - Able to work on multiple concurrent projects - Able to take on-board feedback and constructive criticism - Design degree. - +3-5 years design experience. - Experienced user of 2D visualisation software (InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop). - Freehand sketching. - Full understanding of art work for print. - Understanding of graphic design and instore communication. - Working knowledge of model making/prototyping, materials and production processes. - 3D software experience a bonus (3DS Max or Vectorworks or Cinema 4D). - Ability to multitask is paramount. - Excellent time management, presentation and communication skills
