About the role

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Go To Market Director – Haircare is a member of the Group Commercial Senior Manager team (SMT) with overall accountability for the success of the product category in scope. The role will take responsibility for shaping and leading the execution of global ‘go to market’ (GTM) strategies, driving overall performance and competitiveness on a global scale for Hair Care product portfolio.
Accountabilities 
  • Lead the definition and drive the execution of the global GTM strategy, plans and initiatives to increase awareness, market share and revenue growth for the category
  • Continuously assess the competitive landscape to identify threats and opportunities and feed insights back into strategy and plans 
  • Lead the development of in-lifecycle analysis, communications and campaigns to maximise the sales potential and profitability of products post launch 
  • Be the category advocate by continuously developing the ambition, ideas and tools needed by marketing and sales teams to get the best commercial outcomes from our products across channels, world-wide 
  • Lead the definition, planning and execution of all commercial elements of pre-launch GTM activities for New Product Development (NPD)
  • Liaise with the strategy team, engineering and global Markets functions to influence new product development based on market insights, consumer behaviour and competitive context 
  • Provide commercial input and insights into the development of business cases, business plans, pricing and core ranging strategies; lead the development of market specific range plans for the category
  • Work collaboratively with global Markets stakeholders to embed global Commercial strategy at market and regional level, while also collating specific category dynamics in each major territory and feeding these insights back into Group Commercial strategies, as appropriate
  • Lead reviews and feedback sessions with markets to understand the local impact of projects and campaigns, and to identify other assets or initiatives required
  • Act as the most senior point of contact and escalation for major commercial issues, communications and/or decisions related to the category 
  • Set the global budget for the category; provide central oversight and alignment of all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, planning and allocation for the category
  • Lead, develop and inspire an engaged and high performing GTM team
  • Continually foster strong collaborative working relationships across functions, categories and geographies, providing effective cross-functional and cross-market leadership for the category
  • Actively engaging with all Dyson business issues and opportunities, operating with the company’s overall commercial agenda at heart

About you

Experience
  • Extensive and proven Commercial management achievements - 10-15 plus years’ experience forged at the leading edge of consumer facing industries 
  • Will have driven brand/category growth through well-orchestrated and innovative consumer focused strategies
  • Global market knowledge
  • Modern media expertise across channels and funnels. (Digital, Social, Email to TV)
Skills & Abilities
  • Energetic, engaging and positive, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Has the ability to work comfortably and lead change in a complex matrix organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management abilities, able to build commitment to strategy and direction and build networks across the business and externally
  • Entrepreneurial flair with a drive for business results. Commercially and financially astute with sound business judgement
  • A strong people leader with a visible and inspiring leadership style.  Able to recruit, grow and develop people, driving hearts and minds, accountability and direction
  • A high degree of intellectual and strategic ability, able to lead both the big strategic picture and comfortable and able to manage the operational aspects of implementation and delivery of detailed projects
  • Culturally aware and with an international mindset, together with a collaborative style as a strong team player who brings a passion for excellence, innovation and delivery
  • Strong digital knowledge with the ability to combine traditional marketing with social media, to recognise the impact of digital influencers and to be able to provide input into content creation
  • A self–starter, both assertive and decisive, and yet flexible around change.  Prepared to see through plans and overcome objections and respond and adapt to a demanding and dynamic environment
