Communications Manager (12m FTC)

About us

The new Dyson Business Services (DBS) organisation will provide process and service excellence to support Dyson’s growth ambitions with a goal of innovating and enhancing services over time to meet the changing needs of the business.  This role will be part of the Programme team that leads the transition to this new organisation, a programme that covers the building of new DBS Centres, the transitioning of existing teams and creating new services in the new Dyson DBS Centres. This is a crucial Programme role that will shape and drive the communications approach and content for the programme. The role will work alongside the Programme Change Lead and communications resources from other associated programmes and communications teams in the Dyson business. 

About the role

The Communications Manager will be responsible for: 


Communications Strategy and Approach:

  • Create and manage a communication strategy and plan to deliver the required information and updates surrounding the Programme objectives and deliverables 
  • Stakeholder mapping and assessment of engagement and support 
  • Communication channel identification and alignment of content/ comms interventions 
  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance 
  • Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics for any arising risks associated with managing change 
  • Manage cross-workstream communication interdependencies including input and adherence to a global communications calendar 
  • Represent the interests of DBS with Dyson Internal communications on any required global communications 


Communication Content:

  • Create, as required, communications content and manage through any approval process to ensure timely delivery of DBS key messages. This will include presentations to DBS, Dyson functional and market teams 
  • Alignment with all Group, Function and Market communications to ensure consistency of message and appropriate timing.

About you

  • Must have experience in leading communications in large global organisation change programmes, preferably including the off shoring of processes and roles 
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate independently to shape and develop successful communications plans and content 
  • Experience of managing comms across several local languages, including working with translation companies ensuring timely delivery of translated materials 
  • Knowledge and experience of Finance. HR, Procurement and End User Computing processes would be an advantage 
  • Ability to adapt plans and activities in line with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months
