Description

The Enterprise Communications team is responsible for ensuring that when presenting Dyson as an entity, to both external and internal audiences, we do so in a consistent, relevant and appropriate way. We work alongside the global PR and Internal Comms teams to support our CEO and Executive team, as well as other core business functions, such as HR, RDD, Security and Legal. We work closely with these teams to create communications, spanning a range of channels, which reflect our values, philosophy and engineering heritage.
As a copywriter in the Enterprise Communications team, you’ll be responsible for generating stories, messages and headlines which represent Dyson as an entity, appropriately and consistently across all markets and all channels. You’ll support internal functions throughout the business in creating effective and relevant communications for both internal and external audiences. You’ll also help to define and control Dyson’s tone of voice, and to establish our approach to storytelling, which plays a big part in how we communicate at Dyson.

Accountabilities

Skills

  • A degree or equivalent, and ideally some industry experience.
  • A passion for all types of writing, from creative storytelling to technical instructions.
  • You must be able to quickly grasp our tone of voice to write copy that sounds ‘Dyson’.
  • An understanding of business language, so you can effectively translate into Dyson’s tone of voice.
  • An ability to develop information hierarchies and systems to deliver complex messages across a range of touch points and channels.
  • An understanding of design, and how to write copy that works with the layout.
  • You must be comfortable working to tight deadlines, and be able to efficiently manage your own projects and time.
  • An ability to write in different personas.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Some experience of publishing software such as InDesign would also be a benefit.
