Description

This role sits within Dyson's Global Data Services team. This team is tasked with ensuring that the various parts of Dyson's business are able to leverage rich, accurate, and timely data to generate insights and make better decisions. As a part of IT, the team has the resources and the remit to keep up with Dyson's impressive global growth. Building our analytical capabilities is a core pillar of Dyson’s strategy.. 
As more consumers engage with Dyson, via more types of products, and across more markets, the volumes of data will greatly increase. Understanding how to use this data to improve everything from customer experiences to product development will be key to Dyson's success.

Accountabilities

  • As the GDS (Global Data Services) team has evolved and grown to lead and meet business demand for data driven insights, the need for greater focus on mature processes, product support and alignment with broader IT has grown with it.
  • This is a pivotal role for the ongoing maturation and impact of the team and will need someone with both heart and fire for data and service excellence.
  • Reporting to the Director of Global Data Services, you will be responsible for: 
  • Working in collaboration with the other leads within GDS to transition data products and projects into smooth and efficient support models 
  • Representing GDS at IT operations reviews ensuring alignment and collaboration 
  • Line Management of permanent and contract project managers 
  • Overall GDS Risk management 
  • Continuous improvement of the data support services for productionised products 
  • Major incident management and problem management 
  • Consolidation and promotion of support and project reporting including ROI actuals 
  • Ways of Working optimisation and evolution
  • Control and management of SaaS and PaaS expenditure

  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, with a natural bent towards collaboration as default, and respect for diversity in all its guises 
  • Excellent personal organisation, with experience of using the right facilitation and process tools to fit the audience and need 
  • Experience of developing bespoke process and delivering the change management to ensure they are embedded 
  • Experience of working with data and cloud technologies (e.g. GCP, AWS, Tableau, Looker ) Familiarity with the disciplines within data teams, from data science to data architecture 
  • Comfortable with fast paced and ambiguous environments, and with an expectation of innovation and thought leadership 
  • Strong slideware and report production skills
  • Experience of managing third party suppliers and resources
  • Experience of creating and managing support teams and aptitude for project planning and execution, from initiation to completion
