About the programmeDyson has embarked on a transformation journey that will deliver a new operating model, processes and technology and enable us to meet the challenges created by our growth ambitions, changing market landscape and fierce competition. Specifically, the Future of Direct & Experience – Data & Content programme will deliver new Marketing Technology systems and transform our Commercial Operations by:
  • Consolidating our global content storage into a new, state-of-the-art digital asset management platform
  • Delivering a marketing resource management solution that will support optimised content production and delivery processes
  • Integrating this content hub with the various content delivery systems to enable a consistent experience across channels
  • Integrating our owner data into one location to enable efficient personalized content and journeys to be delivered.

About the role

The Data Product Owner will manage and be responsible for all data activities falling under the responsibility of the business as part of the Future of Direct & Experience – Data & Content programme. Ultimately being responsible for ensuring that the data that underpins our content is structured correctly to enable users to find our content, report on performance and scale our production processes as we further globalize our delivery.

About you

Key responsibilities of the role (not limited to):
Strategic
  • Key member of the Future of Direct & Experience – Data & Content programme project team
  • Strategic lead for business information requirements.
  • Core point of contact and clarity for Information Management standards and risks for the programme across data classification, data retention, rights management, metadata standards and others
  • Technical
  • Creating and devising strategies and schema to create a holistic view of marketing resources across the business to meet current and future needs.
  • Key point of contact for any issues concerning or affecting the information architecture of the Content Hub.
  • Define the metadata schema, data sources and data mapping between source and target systems.
  • Responsible for turning business requirements into data architecture requirements to satisfy reporting and content delivery requirements; 
  • Will work closely with IT and 3rd party suppliers to ensure that the business requirements are met.

Operational
  • Will champion the needs of the business stakeholders and users in all areas.
  • Supporting Business process changes with Data Owners working with people across Commercial to understand our business, information and metadata requirements.
  • Will manage data specialist/s and temp Metadata Librarian (Imagery)
  • Create and manage a backlog of data requirements for the delivery of the Marketing Content Hub. 
  • Part of the team scoping user stories and epics.  Ensure that all business requirements are met within the user stories and epics.
  • Work closely with the IT and Business delivery team to define the roadmap and prioritise the backlog to ensure we’re able to deliver based on business priority.
  • Provide reporting to key team member and senior stakeholders across all of the Commercial backlog and project deliverables.
  • Ensure that knowledge gaps within the roadmap are identified 
  • Works closely with the BA team to create the full product backlog and ensure all business requirements are met within the User Stories and Epics defined by the BAs
  • Provides reporting to key team members and senior stakeholders across all of the backlog and project deliverables 
  • Works with the various insight teams to drive change based on that evidence. 

About you
  • Master’s degree or higher in Information Management or related discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience of working in Information Management specifically metadata management, taxonomies and controlled vocabularies
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the design and implementation of DAM systems
  • Data and content subject matter expert, with a good understanding of the processes to produce and distribute marketing assets, and of the corresponding customer and product data and asset metadata
  • Ability to work with technical data leads in a multi-disciplinary IT delivery project.
  • Strong focus on quality and excellence

  • Does the backlog accurately cover all requirements that have been raised and validated?
  • Do we have the correct Acceptance criteria on all User Stories?

About you
  • At least 5 years’ experience of product ownership including the delivery of IT system capabilities, e.g., Digital, Marketing Technologies, CRM
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the design and implementation of DAM systems
  • Data and content expert, with a good understanding of the processes to produce and distribute marketing assets, and of the corresponding customer and product data and asset metadata
  • Ability to work with technical data leads in a multi-disciplinary IT delivery project.
