We need a Digital Designer to work within our Digital Experience Team to work on the designs for our latest digital propositions for our direct and controlled digital channels, across all markets, that connect our brand and products with our customers, communicating our mantra of first / better / only, setting us apart from the competition.Reporting to the Creative Head you’ll work closely with a team of designers to create memorable experiences that engage all audiences at any point in their journey across our Direct and Controlled digital channels. Working under the direction of the Creative Head and interpreting the requirements of the Creative Director you’ll work as part of a team of designers alongside Product Owners and Digital IT to support the creative execution of new experiences and enhancements to be executed across all markets. You’ll own the creative execution and need to ensure that the delivery is inline with the Dyson guidelines and that the integrity of the brand is maintained to the standard and consistency we expect. You’ll have a passion for designing exceptional experiences informed through insight and use these learning's to identify key problem areas in our digital journeys. Designing and iterating creatively brilliant tests to optimise content, campaign effectiveness and user engagement. Working with the wider category teams you’ll explore new technologies and innovations to enhance the way in which we can hero our latest technology through relevant and engaging experiences for our owners.
Accountabilities1. Help define new and unique experiences that hero and tell the story of our technology, directpropositions and enhancements.2. Bring a fresh perspective to the design digital experiences. Interpret creative briefs and understand thefoundation for all of your work and ensure the delivery of all creative work.3. Through a ‘test and learn’ approach use data and insight to drive new ideas for optimisation andcontinuous improvement.4. Build an understanding of our various markets around the world, their cultural nuances andconsumer trends and habits. Establish what this means in terms of versioning through all executions.5. Work with other creatives to brainstorm and share ideas.6. Work closely with senior key stakeholders to manage expectations and keep then engaged and awareof key decisions at every stage.7. Close collaboration with the Digital Experience Creative Director, Head of UX, and Category creativeteams to deliver consistent, relevant experiences.8. Have a thorough and constantly up-to-date knowledge of our competitors and their activity and usethis knowledge to ensure that Dyson campaigns cut through the noise and stand us apart.9. Filter and distil information and create clear communication hierarchies.10. Be proactive and innovative in your thinking. Look out to the wider world for inspiration, think laterallyand be unafraid to challenge convention and push boundaries.11. Work with the integrated campaign creative teams to ensure the vision and strategy for the app, isconsidered and an integrated element in comms and campaign development.12. Quality check and control the work being presented upwards to the Digital Experience CreativeDirector. Work needs to be thoroughly explored, considered, supported by clear rationale and well setupfor a positive outcome.13. Work with dedicated developers to ensure the execution of final design and interactions are realised tothe standard and level set out.14. Ensure that your work is consistent with the wider digital creative agenda, deadlines are met and that allwork is on-brand and on-brief.
SkillsYou have an eye for detail and layout and typography matter as much to you as they would a print designer. You understand information architecture and can demonstrate user interface design skills. Basic programming / development skills are an advantage in informing the work you produce and facilitating the transition from design to build.
The other side of you is something of a digital obsessive and you have your finger on the pulse of the digital world – latest thinking and ideas, award wining creative, trends and advancements.
You’ll bring this knowledge to bear by looking for opportunities to expand Dyson’s thinking with regards to our digital output. You’re an active contributor in group brainstorms and comfortable expressing your ideas, either informally, or in more formal presentations, both to peers and senior stakeholders.
