E-Sourcing Manager - Indirect Procurement

Description

The role will support the categories in their planning and execution of procurement strategies to deliver competitive advantage for Dyson through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management and innovation. Manage the training, support and development of e-sourcing skills and strategies for Indirect Procurement categories. Support and advise on e-auction, tender strategy, developing tender templates, analysing responses and ensuring the appropriate processes are complied with. Enable the categories to be self-sufficient and audit compliant in the document management of supplier pre-qualification, audit, auction responses, evaluation and contract award. Manage the e-sourcing system and updates.

Accountabilities

1. Impact on Business
  • The e-sourcing manager will also be responsible for the e-sourcing process and maintenance of the operating model.
  • Ensures appropriate coordination, training, and collaboration across the business.
  • Developing innovative and streamlining initiatives in conjunction with the business to reduce bottom line costs.
  • Ensures the efficient operation of sourcing tools and systems, including the active maintenance of associated management information and data.
  • Work with the team to support the management of e-sourcing solutions and the execution of e-sourcing events with suppliers.
  • Lead best practice to drive compliance, create time-savings and other efficiencies.
  • Broaden solution adoption globally.
2. Customers / Stakeholders
  • Champion, embed and oversee the on-going development of e-procurement systems and tools into end to end procurement process, including spend analysis, e-sourcing, e-contract management and requisition to pay.
  • To work closely across Procurement and business stakeholders to ensure the effective development of e-sourcing strategy.
  • Influence the businesses and drive the application of a variety of commercial models to deliver the most appropriate business outcomes.
  • Support the team in influencing policy thinking, provide timely responses to audit reports and report category costs as appropriate.

4. Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of e-procurement systems from sourcing to settlement.
  • Lead the simplification of the sourcing processes and related documentation.
  • Produce guidance on the standards, policies and rules that are appropriate to the delivery and implementation of new processes and systems.
  • Design and deliver workshops, seminars and training events to communicate e-sourcing and contract management strategy and tools to the procurement community and key stakeholders.
  • Support the category teams in developing, running and evaluating e-sourcing activity.
  • Maintain the contractual output from e-auctions and ensure this applied consistently across the procurement team
  • Manage the operational relationship with the technology supplier for e-sourcing and contract management.
  • Extending awareness of the benefits that e-Sourcing can deliver to Procurements stakeholders.
  • Develop a toolkit covering the processes and techniques to obtain optimum value from the e-sourcing platform.
  • Ensure quality of content and compliance with relevant sourcing and category planning governance.
  • Drive embedding of best practices and compliance to the operating model.
  • Support the development and enhancement of the operating model.
  • Maintain credibility and relevance with the business so that the category management team becomes true business partners and acknowledged as a clear benefit.
  • Develop a reputation for delivery that quickly earns credibility.

5.Management of Risk
  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the e-sourcing platform, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management changes, and the impact of new technology.
  • Ensure that all agreements are established in accordance with the relevant global, regional or national Legal representatives.

Skills

Essential:
  • Experience of SAP Ariba or similar e-sourcing platforms.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of procurement, including tendering, negotiation and contract management.
  • Project and change management experience.
  • Ability to analyse data and advanced Excel skills.
  • Conversant with information management and technology.
  • Good communication and relationship management skills with the ability to engage and influence across all level of stakeholders.
  • Sustains personal energy, self-motivation and productivity.
  • Identifies and raises opportunities and/or challenges.

Desirable:
  • On a planned route towards MCIPS, Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of leading complex e-procurement projects.
  • An understanding and application of legal issues
  • Enquiring mind and track record in delivering innovative solutions.
  • Good financial awareness (including managing project finances).
  • Experience leading and managing matrix teams.
