In the role of Employee Relations Manager (UK) you will be reporting to the Head of Global Employment Law and working to design, build out and then manage an entirely new team (and all of the associated work flow, business processes and governance that will accompany that).


Your day to day duties will involve:

  • Designing and implementing Employee Relations strategy across UK business functions 
  • Setting appropriate expectations for governance, escalation and communication of Employee Relations risk
  • Designing, building/procuring and maintaining an appropriate case management system 
  • Building strong relationships with Dyson’s UK HR and business client groups, including conducting regular meetings with key stakeholders 
  • Developing and leading Employee Relations talent in the UK, including recruiting, hiring, retention, evaluating performance, goal setting, performance coaching and management, and career development of team members
  • Managing the allocation and prioritisation of Employee Relations workload
  • Proactively reviewing the cases dealt with by the team, to identify any potential trends and themes (in relation to both the nature of issues being raised as well as the business areas from which those issues have arisen) and implementing support to the business area/team to remedy those 
  • Acting as an escalation point for high risk Employee Relations issues 
  • Responding to and investigating complaints involving complex employment matters 
  • Working with investigatory managers in the preparation of comprehensive investigation reports, including recommendations for complaint resolution 
  • Preparing cases for tribunal claims including, in particular, the collation and creation of relevant document bundles for use by internal and external legal advisers
  • Reviewing, revising and/or recommending Employee Relations policies 
  • Creating and maintaining precedent documents for the management of Employee Relations issues 
  • Developing and delivering relevant training programmes for HR and line managers 
  • Maintaining an up to date and comprehensive knowledge of developments in Employee Relations law and best practice, and supporting with the dissemination of that information to peers and the business accordingly
