Description

Governing the end-to-end trade terms process within GB&I, the trade terms analyst will safeguard our investment with our 3rd Party retailers through effective trade terms governance
Since the transition to an everyday pricing model in GB&I, our investment with our retailers has become a fundamental lever to winning in the market. The trade terms analyst will ensure we “pay for performance”, driving the required execution and behaviours within our retailers to deliver our sales out forecasts.
The role requires high attention to detail, a rigorous and methodical mind set, the ability to influence commercial stakeholders and a drive for finishing the task in-hand.

Accountabilities

1. Ensure compliance across GB&I 3rd Party retail to internal spend controls:
  • Governance of the end-to-end trade spend process and making sure this is being applied to all spend with our retailers, from the creation of the customer contract to processing the payment to the retailer.
  • Structured record keeping of contracts, performance criteria, evidence and payments.
  • Rigorous review of evidence collected by National Account teams, acting as an impartial auditor that our retailers have met the required criteria.
  • By building a collaborative approach, train and upskill GB and Ireland National Account teams across the end-to-end trade spend process, pro-actively managing timelines to enable key milestones to be met.

2. Owner of trade terms governance process:
  • Maintain and update end-to-end governance process documentation.
  • Develop and roll out KPI reporting to drive compliance.
  • Evolve processes as new tools are integrated, Group Delegated Authorities Matrix updated, and recurring pain-points identified.

3. Maintenance of rebate module and customer balance sheet:
  • Manage rebate module and relevant month end journals, aligning to retailer terms and performance.
  • Conduit between GB Market and Accounts Receivable, facilitating efficient processing of deductions, minimising aged balances and pro-actively identifying problem areas.

Skills

Experience:
  • Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups.
  • Track record of collaborating and influencing in a dynamic, commercial environment.
  • Process design and change management.
  • Experience of SAP (in particular, Dispute Manager), Business Warehouse, Anaplan advantageous.

Skills:
  • Attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Management of timelines across multiple-stakeholders.
  • Ability to flex communication style to influence stakeholders to adhere to deadlines and standards.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
  • Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
