The Sales controller Germany partners with the sales team to ensure that the sales activities deliver value for the company. In addition, he/she ensures excellence in accounting and business operations around the customer rebate & co-advertisement budget, which is very critical given its size and significance. He/she will be also owning the sales targets, making sure that the sales team gets frequent and accurate updates on the status. 


Business Partnering with Sales
  • Support and advice the sales team in Germany – (Electrical Retail / Key Account) through accurate and timely analysis / support in all relevant topics.
  • Work together with the Key Account team on the terms & conditions, promo planning and gap closing activities in order to embed these financial metrics into the day-to-day work of the sales function
  • Drive sell-out and corresponding business activities through thorough customer understanding and by providing financial expertise to Key Account team
  • Drive external engagement with top customers on business and financial back office matters as well as attend external customer meetings together with KAM on financial / strategic topics
Fully own the Co-Advertisement Budget
  • Ensure transparency on the co-advertising budget across all stakeholders including senior leadership – compliance and budget control from contract setup and approval to payout and proof of performance
  • Provide quality input to the other members of the team on co-advertising so that the right accruals can be built at month end and right budgets are provided for in the financial forecast
  • Ensure that the deductions relating to co-advertising do not exceed the target (in terms of total amount and ageing) 
  • Act as a bridge between accounting (Finance Center of Excellence/ shared service center) and the local sales team to make sure all claims are processed on time. Ensure that the disputed claims are clarified within 4 weeks with the customer.

Month-End, Forcasting and Accounting
  • Responsible for consolidating and analysis / reporting of Sales Controlling related inputs for the financial forecast
  • Close coordination & clear roles/responsibilities with the second Sales Controller as well as the wider finance team (Forecasting, Direct Team, Demand Planning)
  • Understand and review responsible B/S sections including e.g. credit note provision

Sales Targets
  • Regularly issue updates on status vs sales targets at account and door level are communicated to the sales team


  • Min 2 years experience of working in a high performing organization
  • Evidence of budget control and can demonstrate financial expertise
  • Working knowledge of the retail industry, either with an electrical manufacturer or other
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Good understanding of SAP FI Module
  • Good understanding of Balance Sheet and P&L 
  • Methodical business planning capability
  • Fluent in German and English -  both verbal and written  
  • Result driven self starter who sees things to completion
