Description

The Financial Centre of Excellence (FCoE) is a centralised function that is responsible for handling day-to-day transactional, reconciliation and statutory control processes.
Sitting in the Month End Hub, as a Financial Control Manager you will be responsible for the FCoE EU month end hubs relationship with Tax & Treasury. Key responsibilities are the coordination and delivery of the necessary documents for computations for local tax compliance. In order to ensure the deliverables, the role includes the planning, monitoring and delivery of the local GAAP audits within Europe. 
Reporting to the FCoE Month end hub Financial Controller - Europe, you will partner our Regional Finance Managers and Market Accountants, (2 report to this role), within FCoE, as well as Tax and Treasury and the Group Statutory Reporting team, to ensure we reconcile our financial information in a consistent and lean manner and meet all European statutory and tax deadlines.
The role is within the Month-End team who support all Dyson European entities, acting as a link between FCoE, Tax and Treasury, Group and the local Market teams.

Accountabilities

Statutory Requirements:
  • Responsible for team planning of the annual Statutory Accounts and annual Tax submission with the chosen 3rd party partners.
  • Ensure markets deliver Group & External Audit Requirements such as Statutory Disclosures and total tax contributions.
  • Manage the delivery of data requests for tax, regulatory assessment and audits.
  • Oversight for year-end external audit requirements and any CoSec deliverables.
  • Key attendee of the weekly / monthly / quarterly meetings with our auditors (EY) and local GAAP accounts providers (KPMG) as the representative for Europe.
 Control:
  • Safeguard Dyson financials via development and application of accounting policies, guidelines and robust balance sheet reconciliations prepared and reviewed on time.
  • Ensure excellence in the Markets balance sheet management, with team members leading quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with key internal stakeholders to highlight risks, opportunities and areas of focus.

Relationships:
  • Partner our Tax colleagues to ensure that tax specialist work is reflected accurately in the group and local ledgers.
  • Build a strong relationship with the Group Statutory reporting team to ensure all deadlines are met for the European entities.

Other:
  • Work at the same pace as Dyson, understanding any changes impacting FCoE and effectively addressing / embedding them in a timely manner.
  • Fulfil any other ad hoc responsibilities as directed by the Head of Finance - Europe.

Skills

  • Qualified Accountant, from an audit practice background
  • Experience of tax compliance
  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Ability and desire to travel (up to 25% of role)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience building relationships and managing stakeholders across locations
  • Ability to motivate and lead in a fast paced environment
  • Highly motivated to achieve results
  • Proactively highlights and progresses solutions for issues identified
  • Advanced IT skills – Microsoft

  • Ability to speak multiple languages
