Financial Controller - 12 Month FTC

The role sits within Finance Centre of Excellence and is based in Malmesbury, responsible for the financial control of all entities across Europe.  The role can require travel across Europe.  
The role is responsible for ensuring Financial Control and month end delivery of both financial and management reporting delivered in line with SLA’s for all European entities.  Managing a team of 10, the role is critical to ensure management accounts and related reporting is completed accurately and on time to each of our European entities.  It is important to ensure processes are undertaken in the most effective way and consistently across Europe and ensuring a culture of performance and continuous improvement is employed.


Month End:
  • Oversight for the accurate and timely close for all European entities, free from any material misstatements.
  • Delivery of FCoE reports & KPIs in line with the FCoE/Market SLA.
  • Safeguard Dyson financials via development and application of accounting policies, guidelines and robust balance sheet reconciliations prepared and reviewed on time.
  • Oversight for the markets monthly cash flow forecast submission; ensuring standardised best practice processes are adopted.
  • Ensure excellence in the Markets balance sheet management, with team members leading quarterly Balance Sheet reviews with key internal stakeholders to highlight risks, opportunities and areas of focus.
  • Responsible for ensuring no surprises to markets.
Statutory Requirements:
  • Responsible for team planning of the annual Statutory Accounts and annual Tax submission with the chosen 3rd party partners.  These services are outsourced but timely data collation is critical.
  • Ensure the team and responsible stakeholders deliver Group & External Audit Requirements.
  • Manage the delivery of data requests for regulatory assessment and audits.
  • Oversight for year-end external audit requirements and any CoSec deliverables.
  • Be the link between FCoE and the local markets.
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and consistency across all FCoE markets for month end related processes and deliverables.
  • Understand and communicate how changes across other Dyson Finance functions and local markets impact FCoE and its customers.
  • Partnering FD / Head of Finance in each FCoE entity, delivering a best in class Financial Operations service.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the markets (Commercial Finance teams).
  • Lead the Regional Controllers to maximise their potential. Drive a performance culture through coaching, engagement and supporting career development.
  • Ensure knowledge of markets and the wider Dyson business is current, keeping up with any changes across the business.
  • Understand best practise in Financial Operations across the industry and keep up to date with latest developments.
  • Fulfil any other ad hoc responsibilities / stand in for the Head of FCoE if required.


  • Qualified Accountant, significant PQE
  • Degree level education or equivalent 
  • Ability and desire to travel
