Marketing Manager - Floorcare

About the role

As the Marketing Manager you will be accountable for the Floorcare category within the UK market. Working with the Head of Floorcare, you will assist with setting plans, and complete efficient execution of the brand building and communication strategy for Floorcare products.
The role relies on the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders effectively across the organisation through developing relationships with others. You will support strategy development and successful launches of NPD (New Product Development), continually seeking to be best in class.  Drive efficiencies to deliver the short term commercials being agile in your approach, maintain products within their lifecycle as well as delivering the long term brand vision. Tasks includes:
  • Delivery of the GB plan working collaboratively with Group Floorcare Commercial team. Translate the global strategy into a GB local strategy
  • Own the category narrative, be able to influence and drive brand objectives as well as deliver the Floorcare P&L
  • Work closely with GB core team to ensure strategy is consistent across all touchpoints
  • Conduct relevant research to understand profile of the Dyson Floorcare customers, and drivers of purchase
  • Undertake range planning work to maximise long term profitability and drive competitor analysis 
  • Forecasting for strategic launches and monitor sales performance to ensure risks are mitigated 
  • Work closely with the research and insights team to analyse market data and consumer insight in order to establish new opportunities across Dyson’s floorcare category
  • Where necessary, work closely with Centre of Excellence team to develop market specific campaigns, ensure comms stays on brand and delivers against objective

Media planning, optimisation and auditing process across all marketing channels:
  • Execution of the overall strategy to reach target audience through paid, owned and earned channels 
  • Media planning, optimisation and auditing process across all marketing channels to deliver category strategy: drive proactive efficiencies to make smart investment decisions for the business with give clear KPIs 
  • Audience targeting strategy to ensure we talk to the right consumer about products that are right for them 
  • Work with Digital Marketing team to ensure optimisation of Digital marketing techniques including Search, Display, Retargeting and Social campaigns. Explore digital channel opportunities to increase reach and relevance of Floorcare products 
  • Work with GB Direct & CRM teams to integrate owned channels to ensure that all Dyson contact points work to improve owner loyalty 
  • Close collaboration with PR to ensure we are maximising our Earned media.  Optimise Dyson campaigns with PR coverage, seeding, influencer and NPD launch events.

  • Support Sales and Customer Marketing Team with each account
  • Collaborate with Customer Marketing to launch NPD with retail, achieve 5 star in-store and online execution merchandising of product
  • Make listing recommendations to National Account Manager and present Floorcare category strategy and NPD at annual and ad-hoc retail sell ins

About you

  • Coming in to this role, you will have held a category brand management role for a market leading consumer business
  • You will have experience of driving product strategy on a local scale, and have experience working with central marketing functions
  • You will have been at the forefront of driving customer engagement and thought leadership within your recent roles
  • You'll also have a proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and deliver results through aligned business functions
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and digital media
