Global Retail Training Specialist

Dyson have an ambitious expansion plan to evolve to a model where 80% of sales are through direct & controlled channels by 2020. This role will be based in the Group Retail Experience Team, working and reporting into Global Training Manager (Content & Delivery). As the Global Retail Training Specialist , you will have the opportunity to support and develop over 4,500 retail stylists and experts globally.
The role will rely on the ability to develop outstanding relationships with others, act as an expert and representative for the key stakeholders and ensure that global training team always deliver an exceptional training experience. This role is far reaching and will rely on the ability to understand the global training agend. The primary focus of this role will be towards NPD & in direct retail. The main objective of the role is to support the Global Training Manager with the design, development and roll out of global training content, through all relevant channels i.e. Digital and face to face. 
This role will need to work collaboratively with a number of functions: the wider retail team, global training community, category and creative teams, RDD (NPD engineers), external providers and IT. The Global Retail Training Specialist role is crucial to ensuring quality training content is designed and delivered in line with Commercial and NPD product launch plans. 
They will own the end to end training process ensuring they are involved at the start of a launch and see it through to completion including any adaptations and translations for specific markets as well as any further development work thereafter.


  • Work in partnership with the category, creative and retail demo teams as well as the engineers to create all NPD training content and advise them on training best practice
  • Create templates and guidelines to enable stakeholders to provide appropriate information and translate it into inspiring training content
  • Create cutting edge, digital training content, working with BRAVE (app agency) and Dyson Learning Team (Cornerstone)
  • Continually introduce new technologies to improve the way we train including the use of Dyson approved authoring tools
  • Work with both Global Training Managers (App Manager and Content/Delivery Manager) to ensure the full end-to-end training process is successfully delivered
  • Connect with global training community to gain insight and best practise on what training tools are required for the future and ensuring what exists now is fit for purpose


  • You will need good understanding of training principles, methodology and evaluation
  • You will need to have worked in a retail environment (ideally global)
  • You will need have a track record that shows you can work with data, distil and translate into meaningful content and insights
  • You will be comfortable with change and ambiguity
