Description

As Group Accountant within our Group Reporting team you will support the delivery of the Group’s management results every month end.  As the business evolves, expands into new markets, develops new products and establishes new sales channels, Group Reporting will need to adapt to ensure that all Group reports have absolute integrity and support executive decision making. The Group Accountant role is an integral part of ensuring that Group Reporting meets these requirements.


The Group Reporting team is at the heart of Dyson’s Finance Community, requiring the team to have good working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including the trading markets, RDD, Operations and the wider Group Finance team. We deliver the infrastructure on which all of Dyson’s global reporting depends, and inevitably that involves us in anything and everything happening around the Group. The business is incredibly dynamic with both new products and regions consistently being added to the operating model, having a large impact on our accounting and reporting to which we must rapidly respond.


As the Group continues to grow the importance of the Group Reporting team will continue to grow to ensure consistency and governance is applied to the global financial reporting across a growing number of markets and categories.  Over time, this will also provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to take on new responsibilities and develop their career.



Accountabilities

  • Perform accurate and timely monthly management accounting processes
  • Development of reporting methods, using OneStream to drive efficiency improvements
  • Assist the Finance Manager with the development of working capital reporting and target setting across the Group
  • Continue the development of the centralised staff bonus accrual process, streamlining existing process and liaising with the Group HR team to enhance data accuracy 
  • Maintaining clear and up to date documentation of your Management consolidation processes for internal use, and relevant accounting policies to drive consistency in Market Finance teams
  • Support for the market Finance teams with month end Management consolidation issues and questions
  • Advise and contribute on projects that impact your Management consolidation processes

Skills

  • Qualified accountant (0-2 years PQE minimum)
  • Willing to work either independently or part of a team
  • Strong consolidation and reporting experience
  • Excellent SAP and Excel knowledge
  • An aptitude for and strong appetite to develop systems and processes in order to drive efficiencies and benefit the business
  • High levels of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong logical mind-set and approach to problem solving
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues from a range of different Finance teams and levels of seniority
