Description

The Head of IT & Systems is responsible for the global strategy, planning and operation of the IT & systems infrastructure to support Weybourne’s overall strategy and business plans, owning the architectural blueprint to enable these plans to translate into a highly functional operational model.   Provide people management, budget responsibility, IT requirements, overseeing all technical departments of the business and acting as a business partner who will help drive the technical evolution of our technology footprint to enhance efficiencies and maximise opportunities for process automation.  Be able to drive the technical team to the next level and deliver on current and future requirements of the business.  The role covers a wide geographical remit across Europe and Singapore across a wide range of smaller entities which the Family Office supports.

The role is responsible for defining, implementing, driving and monitoring a robust cyber security strategy for Weybourne and all entities within the Group, to include driving of cyber awareness and training across all employees to install a strong awareness culture.

The person is responsible for the day to day management of the IT Team, whilst taking a strategic approach to the development and growth of the technical areas of the business and projects while continuing the development and mentoring of all members of the team.

Accountabilities

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Management of People
• Leading a structured support team including technical experts and a Service Desk.
• Providing 2nd / 3rd line escalation support and overseeing project delivery.
• Line management responsibility for Service Delivery, Systems and Infrastructure functions.
• Critical in managing delivery of significant programs of improvement activities to current infrastructure and services as well ensuring Infrastructure is aligned with the overall organisation and IT strategy.

Management of Infrastructure
• The Head of IT & Systems effectively plans, delivers and maintains an appropriate robust, reliable IT infrastructure for the organisation.
• Provide technical authority governance.
• Ownership of the End-to-End support for all IT services both internal and customer facing.
• Ownership of IT Infrastructure and operations strategy and delivery across the business.
• IT infrastructure and software selection criteria, testing and ability to prioritise projects to ensure delivery targets are achieved.
• Establish and promote the vision for IT to support transformation and innovation across all entities.

Management of Stakeholders
• Work effectively with key stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
• Demonstrate a strong business understanding and develop positive relationships and business partnering with key stakeholders.
• Manage and maintain the performance of external suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

Management of Information
• Support the Service Delivery Manager in taking ownership of the incident, problem and change management processes.
• Ensure all documentation and policies are kept up to date and accurate.

Management of Resources
• Use stringent and accurate resource planning for budgeting, assets and systems management.
• Develop business cases for IT investments where needed and manage the procurement process.

Cyber Security
• Develop, implement and continue to drive a strong cyber security culture at Weybourne and all group entities, ensuring it is driven from the top down.
• Provide leadership and advice to the IT team on cyber security.
• Develop and maintain a cyber awareness training system across all entities.
• Report on incidents, trends and adherence to cyber security.
• Develop information security policies and procedures across all entities.
• Ensure that information is appropriately secured against the adverse effects of failures in confidentiality, integrity, availability and compliance with laws and regulations which would otherwise occur
• Responsibility for IT risks across all entities where Weybourne IT provide services

Other responsibilities• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships across the company and other family office entities.
• Proactively promoting and maintaining high standards of work – taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that don’t meet required standards or any issues that arise.
• Conducting yourself in line with the Weybourne Values.
• Managing the security team workload - planning aims, objectives and priorities.
• Holding regular one-to-ones with/providing coaching and feedback to your direct reports.
• Conducting performance appraisals twice yearly with your direct reports, invoking performance management strategies where applicable.
• Working with HR to resource, plan and recruit for your team.
• Any other ad hoc duties.

Skills

• Practical application and working understanding/knowledge of IT/technical skills within a Microsoft environment.
• Line management and department lead experience.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Experience of managing IT Design and Operations excellence.
• Project Management skills through delivery of IT Infrastructure based projects.
• Management of 3rd parties, through project delivery and support.
• Dedicated to providing customer service and managing relationships.
• Able to travel to sites to engage with clients.
• Ability to communicate complex I.T. information to non-technical audience with clarity.
• Strong planning & time management skills.
• Strong cyber security experience and awareness of trends and threats.
• Able to engage the business at all levels to solve problems and implement improvements.
• Ability to deliver under pressure.
• Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership.
• Comfortable working outside of core working hours when necessary to complete the task in hand.

Education/Experience:• Extensive experience in an IT Infrastructure Technical role
• Extensive experience in an IT Management role
• Formal training and Certification in ITIL and Prince 2 is desirable
