Description

The Head of Marketing will be accountable for the development of the marketing and brand portfolio strategy, within the context of the Swiss growth plans and Dyson’s global marketing ambitions. This role leads a small Marketing team, is reporting directly into the Country Manager and a key member of the market leadership team.

Accountabilities

  • Responsibility for the marketing and brand portfolio strategy for the Swiss business while managing the marketing budget effectively
  • Develop an advertising/media strategy for the key B2C categories and ensure consistent execution of all key equity elements across materials and channels
  • Adapt and implement European designed campaigns and activities to local needs based on sell-out plans that will result in sustainable and profitable growth
  • Contribute to Dyson's market presence in physical retail and bring it to a next level
  • Lead, develop, coach and motivate a diverse team of marketing people so that it is capable of delivering excellent and “best in class” results. Drive commercial awareness within the team and the whole organization
  • Conduct rigorous business, consumer and competitive analysis
  • Work closely as a sparring partner with local business units (Sales, Direct, Finance, PR, Operations) and with International Marketing

Skills

  • Degree educated with a min. of 8 years marketing experience in a high performing environment including strategy development, consumer insight generation, brand positioning and delivery of successful brand execution plans in the consumer goods industry (FMCG and/or TCG)
  • Expert understanding of commercial awareness and decision making based on sales targets
  • Track record of leading, developing and motivating a team of marketers, creating an environment in which the norms are challenged and where there is a real desire to deliver consistent high performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills – excellent global team play, communication and influencing skills with the ability to balance the various individual interests of all stakeholders (Local/Regional/Global Senior Management and other functions)
  • Self-starter with a high energy level who enjoys working in an autonomous way, demonstrating energy and passion, breakthrough thinking, developing new opportunities
  • Experience in working effectively in a diverse, matrix organization demonstrating the ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity across the organization
  • Fluent in English and German, French is a plus
