Description

As the Head of Search Engine Optimisation for Dyson, you will be joining the company at an exciting time. You will have full ownership of the organic search function to drive customer visits, content engagement and brand presence. You will set the vision, strategy and execution playbook aimed at continuing our double digit growth towards £200m from organic in 2020. 
You will be working with a number of teams across the wider organisation to ensure alignment and SEO best practice. These will include: 
  • Creative and PR teams, where you will help enhance the content strategy to drive organic growth
  • IT team to help with technical implementation
  • E-commerce and Media teams to contribute to the overall P&L of the direct to consumer business unit
  • Local markets to set vision for execution and to overcome barriers to execution
As the ideal candidate, you will have a proven track record and significant experience in delivering SEO improvements that have resulted in meaningful increases in organic SEO performance within a national or global UK brand. You will have team management experience, as well as managing external content marketing agencies. You will also be confident speaking to a wide variety of stakeholders, from developers to designers working across front and back-end environments. 
You will have worked in an agile environment, with excellent keyword/topic research and campaign planning skills. You will have experience working with editorial teams to enhance content for SEO. You will need tenacity and passion to educate and drive change cross-functionally across teams, both in the central function, as well as in markets globally. You will be responsible for delivering the global SEO vision, as well as hitting revenue goals

Accountabilities

  • Define and own the global Dyson search engine optimisation strategy
  • Lead the business into becoming a SEO first organisation, working with a wide range of stakeholders to implement best practice across Dyson
  • Build localised organic search strategies and consult markets on best practice
  • Audit Dyson websites and provide guidance on improvements to architecture meta-data, page theming and link building
  • Strong understanding of SEO web migrations with proven track record – technical understanding of redirect mapping, and performance monitoring
  • Work closely with the Paid Media team to create efficiencies between organic and paid search
  • Work with Content, Social and Communications team to devise an effective off-site SEO strategy
  • Monitor and evaluate web analytics dashboards and reports in order to develop and recommend SEO strategies
  • Communication to markets and senior management on strategy, development, timelines, and results
  • Ongoing rollout and evolution of the SEO best practice playbook across international markets
  • Own relationships with 3rd party vendors, budgets and driving engagement with markets

Skills

  • At least five years’ experience within the SEO industry preferably within a multi-market/international e-commerce environment
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithm’s evolution, and future risks within search
  • A proven track record in delivering high performance SEO content strategies to drive organic traffic as well as incremental link authority
  • Paid media experience to ensure effective keyword targeting and landing page structure to drive efficiency
  • Strong understanding of technical SEO including Hreflang, crawl budget optimisation, schema markup, XML sitemap, pagination and canonical markup
  • Proficient understanding of Google Analytics, Google Search Console and Adobe Analytics
  • Excellent presentation, communication and reporting skills
