Investment Analyst

About us

Established in 2013, Weybourne is the family office for the Dyson family. Weybourne manages investments and provides financial and other professional support to the Family, their estates, and business interests.  The latter covers a wide range of sectors, including farming, aviation, financial investments, commercial and residential property, music and several others.  We currently have a team of around 60 employees, whose roles cover accountancy, financial control, tax and treasury, property and investment management, security, risk, and HR based in the both the UK and Singapore. 
We are seeking an Investment Analyst to join our team in our office in Mayfair, London. You will have responsibility for providing investment research and analytical support to the Chief Investment Officer and the Heads of illiquid fund and liquid fund investments. 

About the role

Our team is small, so you will work across all asset classes, including public equity, credit, hedge funds, private equity, private credit and private real estate. You will also be involved in broader portfolio management issues including asset allocation, performance analysis and reporting.  The role provides a wealth of opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of long-term multi-asset class investing.

About you


You will be responsible for a broad range of investment management activities, including: 

  • Screening and due diligence on external managers, funds or direct positions across all asset classes; 

  • Monitoring of current investments through manager meetings, conferences, fund document reviews, inclusive of the provision of performance analysis and written commentaries; 

  • Preparation of monthly performance reports and Investment Committee materials, including performance, attribution and exposure analyses;  

  • Maintenance and improvement of various proprietary portfolio management, cash flow, reporting and risk systems; and 

  • Research into economic, industry and financial market trends to help inform asset allocation decisions and to fuel investment idea generation. 

  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships across the company and other family office entities.  

  • Commitment to developing yourself within your role – undergoing training where necessary. 

  • Proactively promoting and maintaining high standards work – taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that don’t meet required standards or any issues that arise. 

  • Conducting yourself in line with the Weybourne Values. 

  • Any other ad hoc duties. 


Qualifications / Experience 

  • Experience in an investment related role is preferred, but not essential; a strong grasp of financial concepts is preferred.  

  • Experience can include but is not limited to any of the following areas:  

  • Investment banking or capital markets;  

  • Asset management; 

  • Investment function in single or multi-family office;  

  • Investment function at direct investment fund or multi-asset investment fund; 

  • Investment consultancy; and/or 

  • Financial advisory. 

  • Prior experience in this field is not essential; however, a strong grasp of financial concepts is preferred. 

  • Where experience is not directly investment related, a candidate must have a demonstrable interest in transitioning to financial markets investing. 

  • Strong candidates will be undertaking or have completed further professional studies (e.g. CFA, IMC, ACA). 

  • A strong understanding of financial markets. Experience of investing across one or more asset classes and portfolio analysis is useful, but not required. 

  • Outstanding academic background with demonstrated analytical capabilities, detail orientated and excellent written English. These capabilities will be tested during the recruitment process. 

  • Advanced excel skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office. 

  • Previous experience with Bloomberg is helpful but not essential as training will be provided.
