Description

As the Lead Finance Analyst - Retail you will provide key financial and performance analysis to the Group Retail function. Dyson has a rapidly growing portfolio of its own retail stores and as a result there is great opportunity to add value to business decision making. The role will support the business through strong analysis and recommendation and plays a vital role in the governance of store expansion.

The Commercial Finance team sits within Planning and Analytics (P&A) and supports the group Commercial Executive team with performance analysis to enable strategic decision making across markets, categories and channels. Within the wider team, the P&A team delivers the analysis of the financial performance across the group, liaising directly with global markets to provide support to the Dyson Executive team.

Accountabilities

This role, reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance in the Group FP&A team and supporting Group Retail stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Analyse performance of Dyson’s owned store portfolio and report on results, themes, opportunities, risks etc.
  • Support the Group Retail team and markets, with business case submission packs and P&Ls for proposed stores. 
  • Work with markets to ensure data integrity of store reporting for actuals and forecasts, including maintenance of store master data.
  • Work with Group Retail team to forecast Capital Expenditure associated with store fit-outs and fixtures.
  • Improve and adapt the financial reporting structure of Direct-Retail to reflect the fast-changing landscape of Dyson Retail e.g. concession stores.
  • Maintain and evolve the automated reporting for Direct Retail to reflect the needs of our stakeholders
  • Become the Finance point of contact for all Direct-Retail queries and provide ad-hoc reporting.
  • Support decision making on long term strategy through the production of relevant insights and analysis.

  • Qualified Accountant with experience in an analytical role.
  • Problem solving mind-set to tackle daily operations issues from multiple angles
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel

  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy, self-review, and time management skills are required
