As a NPI Marketing Strategy Manager at Dyson you will be working with our engineers on developing the future 2 – 5 year product roadmap. You’ll play a key role in shaping the category strategy by driving consumer and commercial input into product the development process. 
This role will use lateral thinking and insight to define the market opportunity, identifying gaps and evaluate the USP’s. You will work with NPI design managers, Insight and Research teams to develop the product claims and overall reasons to believe as well as verifying the commercial viability of product specifications. Defining market sizing and routes-to-market analysis you will ensure the product pipeline aligns with wider business objectives. You will then help steer projects through the development milestones by working cross functionally with wider marketing and sales teams to ensure profitable ranges, pricing strategies and successful go-to-market plans.


• Work closely with our engineers to determine the 2-5-year category product strategy integrating commercial requirements, consumer insights and go-to-market plans. • Be the voice of the customer, working with the insights & mechanistic teams to identify user needs and desires. • Build business case scenarios to determine potential for new product launches.• Provide commercial and market input to engineering teams to help focus research on the right technologies for future products. • Identify all relevant competitors in the market. Identify key claims, technologies and price points. Ensure testing is carried out to substantiate early claims.• Responsible for delivery of the product briefings to wider category teams and the markets to deliver ranges, pricing and volumes for exec sign off. • Brief creative teams with product proposition intents and validate early with consumer testing. • Work with competitor analysts, performance & claims on a strategy for standards/test methods that will maximise claims for our products. • Liaise with market teams and ensure regular consultation and updates on key initiatives. • Manage and a small team of Marketing Managers, giving them clear objectives, day to day direction and personal development support


  • Experience of working in a Product Management or Marketing role
  • Commercially astute and customer focused, you’ll have demonstrable experience of successfully taking a product to market. 
  • Concise and articulate in communicating analysis and evidence, both written and verbally. Able to onboard and excite others with ideas and approaches.  
  • Confident at building business case scenarios and reviewing financial outputs. Firm understanding of the financial drivers that can support product strategy decisions. 
  • We’d like you to build strong working relationships with our engineers therefore a passion and understanding of technology and technical information is critical. You are able to understand engineering concepts and technological data. 
  • You’ll be capable of logically de-constructing an issue or problem. Able to handle large amounts of information and provide quick, timely analysis in keeping with time pressures for projects.
  • Marketing or Business related qualification desirable.
