Network Analyst

The Weybourne IT Department is currently looking for a Network Analyst. This role will sit within the IT & Systems Department joining a team of 8 across service desk, project management and systems.

Established in 2013, Weybourne is the Dyson family office. Weybourne manages investments and provides financial and other professional support to the Family, their estates, and business interests. We currently have a team of around 55 employees, whose roles cover accountancy, financial control, IT support, tax and treasury, property and investment management, security, risk, and HR based in the both the UK and Singapore.


As the technical network engineer, the Network Analyst provides technical expertise, support and recommendations to Weybourne Ltd for network technologies and applications in response to business needs.  The role will assist in the operation and improvement of existing IT services and infrastructure and assist in designing and transitioning new services to operations.

The Network Analyst will need a strong understanding of Network technologies (Switches, routers, Wi-Fi, VPN and firewalls etc.) and a good general knowledge of IT infrastructure.  
You will have an understanding and demonstrable experience of designing and implementing Cisco networks in appropriate situations along with a good working knowledge of IT Service Management principles.

• Evaluate technologies and architectures in relation to Weybourne Ltd infrastructure needs. 
• Interface with management, customers and suppliers to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.
• Design and manage the rollout of critical network infrastructures to support the Weybourne Ltd communications’ products and services, on both a strategic (long term) and tactical (immediate term) level.
• Ensure that the network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements.
• Provision of second line support for the Service Delivery team.
• Participate in, and at times be the lead technical resource on Infrastructure based projects to implement new systems and technologies
• Ensure network projects deliver value for money
• Manage implementations by 3rd parties, from initial supplier selection, through commercial agreement until final project completion.
• Manage / participate in projects to improve systems, processes and service delivery quality within the team, department and wider business.
• Liaise and if required escalate with team to provide knowledge transfer to ensure a consistent level of systems understanding is achieved.
• Publish, improve and manage internal I.T. documentation.
• Team lead when relevant projects dictate.
• Commitment to developing yourself within your role – undergoing training where necessary.
• Proactively promoting and maintaining high standards work – taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that don’t meet required standards or any issues that arise.

• Demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WLAN/WAN support and engineering design for voice, data and video networks at Access, Aggregation, and Core network locations
• Technical knowledge of Cisco products and technologies (Catalyst 37xx, 38xx Switches, VSS, ASA, WLAN) as well as advanced network routing, switching and load balancing technologies.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, QoS, layer 2 and layer 3 VLANS, Concepts include, but not limited to, BGP, OSPF, RIP, HSRP, NAT
• Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, UPS, etc.
• Router, Switch and IP configuration experience is required
• Knowledge of security concepts and technologies, mainly Cisco ASA Firewalls.
• Experience deploying and configuring virtual networks and routing paths in an Azure cloud environment.
• Proven track record with successful deployment of small-medium- scale network projects on time to quality from a resource, task and technical perspective.
• Dedicated to providing customer service and managing relationships.
• Able to travel to worldwide sites to engage in project work, or second/third line fault repair.
• Proficient problem solver who is able to understand others agendas and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Confident communicator, via email, telephone and face to face.
• Ability to communicate complex I.T. information to non-technical audience with clarity.
• Strong planning & time management skills.
• Good understanding delivering success in an I.T. function.
• Able to engage the business at all levels to solve problems and implement improvements.
• Ability to deliver under pressure.
• Must be self-motivated with strong sense of ownership.
• Comfortable working outside of core working hours when necessary to complete the task in hand.
