Description

Dyson seeks a Paralegal to support the Employment Law Team and broader business functions, with a strong background in employment relations and litigation advice, and internal investigations support. This is a role that provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and contribute as part of a dynamic and ambitious in-house legal team.  As an Employment Paralegal, you will report to the Senior Employment Counsel – Asian Regions and partner regularly with other Employment Law Team members to deliver advice and assistance to a variety of departments, with a focus on human resources. 

Accountabilities

  • Supporting on Singapore and Asia Pacific employment issues across the business, helping to navigate complex issues with an output and delivery focus
  • Co-ordinate multi-jurisdictional legal advice by managing external counsel and internal stakeholders
  • Help to prepare and update risk assessments, settlement proposals, project plans and status updates on all material projects and risk areas identified by the employment Law Team in our Asian Regions
  • Own and drive projects through to completion – collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely execution
  • Support on the effective management of employment litigation and contentious matters in our Asian Regions by preparing bundles, drafting witness statements, collating and reviewing disclosure documents and generally assisting with internal and external stakeholders to drive to a favourable outcome
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing policies, template contracts and HR precedents in Singapore and our Asian Regions
  • Supporting the Senior employment counsel – Asian Regions in the management of larger scale collective employee issues in Singapore and the Asian Regions such as redundancies, restructures, business transfers and changes to terms and conditions
  • Supporting with the preparation and delivery of relevant training programmes for HR and line managers
  • Maintaining an up to date and comprehensive knowledge of developments in your area of Law, and supporting with the dissemination of that information to peers and the business accordingly
  • Conduct research on applicable regulations, laws, and legal articles
  • Collaborating with other members of the legal Team and the business to devise efficient strategies for the provision of legal services that are fit for future growth and match our blueprint for success
  • Attend to basic clerical tasks, such as photocopying, making and receiving phone calls, maintenance of data trackers and fielding correspondence

Skills

  • Law degree or equivalent 
  • Ideally at least one year’s experience at a reputable law firm or within a large business environment
  • Familiarity with electronic document management and filing systems
  • Superior legal research skills
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and Outlook required
  • SharePoint and Relativity proficiency preferred
  • Be a self-starter, with confidence to independently seek resolutions to issues when appropriate
