Profit Protection Investigator (US)


Starting salary will be based on experience and credentials

The Profit Protection Investigators role is to drive the investigative strategy and response across their region of responsibility, working collaboratively with their other regional piers and global counterparts to share and drive best practice and leverage their strengths multilaterally across the team, being a key contributor to our industry leading Global Profit Protection centre of excellence. 
The position includes investigations of the; manufacturing environment, supply chain, Retail, distribution of counterfeit goods as well as grey goods, new product launches, fraud, theft, false accounting. The position will oversee all investigations within their region of responsibility, including the development and preparation of evidence to support civil, and in some cases, criminal cases.


  • Perform investigative duties of exceptional difficulty or of the highest sensitivity and importance ensuring all investigations are conducted within the scope of the company rules, policies, and regulations
  • Manage investigations selectively based on their complexity, scope, and impact on the company
  • Share knowledge and experience through briefings, presentations and guidance with the wider team
  • Collect data through in-house and publicly available information to identify unusual activity
  • Use breadth of technical and investigative knowledge, skills, and tools to discern and resolve conflicting facts or evidence
  • To continually assess and address the risk of loss and security to the Supply Chain / Manufacturing and Omni Channel environment, evaluating the risks of existing controls for weaknesses and learning from the investigations undertaken
  • To continually work with the Regional Profit Protection Managers to address the risk of loss and security to the Supply Chain, National Wholesale accounts, reselling partners, refurbishment centers and the Omni Channel environment, evaluating the risks of existing controls for weaknesses and making recommendations for improvements
  • Lead on investigations involving new product launch management, tracking and security of all assets and intellectual property within region up to launch date
  • Liaise closely with law enforcement, retail partners, industry trade groups and other relevant agencies within the region to ensure that Dyson can operate with minimum disruption from criminal activity


  • At least five years or more experience in the investigative discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of investigation best practice
  • High ethical standards, self-discipline and a good sense of confidentiality
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels
  • Ability to adapt to different cultural operating environments
  • Ability to analyse and use evidence effectively to inform decision-making
  • Ability to oversee investigations involving a vast range of subjects that encompass large, complex, cases that may be of national, or international significance
  • Overseeing development of investigations, statistical data, and reports to evaluate and determine goals and objectives
  • Previous experience of conducting investigations alongside law enforcement or legislative bodies
