Description

Dyson are looking for a Quality Manager to lead our UK-based team of engineers supporting EC, Lighting and Airblade categories, encompassing all areas of Product Quality – Safety, Reliability, Satisfaction – and also early-stage Manufacturing & Supplier Quality risk.

Accountabilities

  • Leads a team to deliver quality and reliability targets as set by the Director and Head of Department 
  • Delivers through others – leads and motivates the team to achieve outstanding results 
  • Responsible for the day to day activity of the team in delivering Quality support across the business 
  • Accountable for the performance, development & engagement of their team (direct and indirect reports) 
  • Plans, resources & leads recruitment for their team 
  • Manages the safety and reliability of all their products 
  • May act as the technical lead for their area & is accountable for resolution of complex technical issues 
  • Ensures good collaboration across Dyson teams at group and in markets 
  • Mentors future senior quality engineers/analysts directly or by developing and delivering programmes 
  • Understands and drives improvements in the product range plan
  • Seeks to continuously improve processes & challenge how we can do things differently & better

  • Works independently, receiving some direction from “Head of”, and ensuring alignment where necessary with peers 
  • Provides leadership to the team as well as from a distance to those not in direct proximity 
  • Accountable for the performance and the results of multiple teams/areas/disciplines of work, cross team leadership 
  • Contributes strategic thinking to input into the development of departmental plans and priorities, develops, implements team strategy  
  • Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve outstanding results
