Description

The Regional Sales Manager role is a part of the “Sales Out” This role will work closely with our “Sales In” and marketing teams to help implement top priorities for our retail partners. This includes but is not limited to managing, coaching and mentoring a team of Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to help establish strong relationship at the retail level teamwork thru training, merchandising, brand building and driving sales and to ensure the successful execution of the business strategies and objectives. As the TSM’s also manage a team of Experts within each of their own retail locations, this position will help manage the day to day challenges that come with part time staff. This will be accomplished by working closely with all members of the team including the Expert Program Manager.

Accountabilities

Provide outstanding leadership to sales and demonstration team
  • Inspire others with passion and unrivalled knowledge of Dyson product and technology
  • Live the Dyson culture and model our values in every interaction
  • Deliver regional objectives with tenacious and inspiring leadership and management across multiple functions of the business including in stores relationships, merchandising, trainings, sales, as well as supporting the rapidly expanding demonstration team
  • Liaise with Dyson internal departments to ensure objectives are properly communicated and executed in the field
  • Achieve dynamic team performance through effective and motivational people management –coaching and mentoring as appropriate to achieve exceptional people development
  • Assist with recruiting and training of qualified team members
  • Challenge the status quo so that creativity and invention are encouraged
  • Communicate clearly and create an atmosphere where people are motivated, empowered and have a sense of ownership
  • Involve the team in decision making that takes into account the bigger picture
  • Identify and improve areas of opportunities of team performance through coaching and feedback
  • Take risks and be accountable for actions
Drive product sales within region
  • Accountable for achieving overall sales and training targets 
  • Identify and execute strategies to drive event and demonstration Key Performance Indicators
  • Create a vision for the region relevant to the wider business plan
  • Gather, evaluate, and act on market trends in order to drive sales
  • Identify potential regional and independent accounts
  • Advance sales in regional and independent accounts.
  • Exercise exceptional commercial skills with gravitas and confidence
Effectively communicate expectations and results to foster continuous improvement
  • Monitor TSM activity instore and ensure priority coverage is being completed
  • Conduct regular one on ones to review teams completions and help set forward planning 
  • Attend regular management meetings at the Dyson corporate office giving executive summaries to appropriate team members
  • Support peers to help them achieve their targets
  • HR accountability for performance reviews, recruitment and training
Fulfil other duties as required
  • Think creatively and identify opportunities to challenge and deliver excellence
  • Identify problems and find solutions

Skills

An enthusiastic, driven and flexible professional who –
  • Has past proven people management and motivational skills 
  • 3+years of experience leading a team of sales people in a retail like environment
  • Works well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Successfully builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Is a comfortable and persuasive communicator, presenter, and negotiator
  • Has the courage to explore new ideas and ways of thinking, take calculated risks, and diplomatically challenge the norm
  • Is a self-starter who manages time exceptionally well, plans and executes multiple projects, and balances priorities
  • Has a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to travel within the territory
  • Is able to lift, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Flexible hours/schedule to allow for business travel (approximately 30%)
  • Has an engaging, driven and dynamic personality
  • Solid understanding of retail business and of the consumer packaged goods industry represents an asset
