Description

Hair Care is a growing and successful business within Dyson, thriving from deep scientific knowledge and insight integration USPs which feed our technology design. 

Ambitions for hair care are now expanding to cover new device formats and benefits, professional customers and integration of chemistry which has expanded the remit and the scale of the current team. We are looking for a strong Research Manager to realise this ambition, driving the innovation strategy and global integration into near term range planning and blue sky roadmaps.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the management of a large and diverse team of experts within Hair Care research, covering science, methods, engineering and product mechanistics 
  • Responsible for the development of an overarching product strategy to deliver N projects and fundamental research utilising external and internal resources 
  • Responsible for the creation of new technology and new skill set integration into product concepts 
  • Responsible for fostering a strong innovation partnership with NPI, working closely with their corresponding NPI Head Of to ensure strong and efficient total team delivery 
  • Accountable for range plan delivery and technical excellence gate keeping on all milestones pre-TS 
  • Responsible for driving strong and effective relationships with research horizontals (e.g. thermodynamics, aeroacoustics, tech research)

  • Should be a fantastic communicator, able to adapt style and content depending on audience.
