Dyson Group Security has the responsibility for delivering security best practice across the global footprint. The physical security of the Hullavington Campus is crucial in ensuring the protection of people, property, information and reputation, not only in the UK, but also in support of the global strategic ambition.
Dyson is developing at a rapid pace and so too are these pieces of real estate.  The growth in activity means that we are looking for a confident and globally experienced Project Manager to join the Security function and drive the delivery of the large and complex security project at the Hullavington site.
In short, with Security Leadership technical guidance, the role will be accountable for ensuring the security contributions of projects are delivered to the Dyson Hullavington project team in a timely, relevant and formally governed manner.

Key Security Project Manager Accountabilities:
  • Managing, co-ordinating, scoping, analysing, designing and delivering of complex security project inputs from inception to completion in a timely manner
  • Integrating seamlessly with the wider Group Security team (including the Site Security Manager) to ensure the successful delivery of multi-faceted projects at site
  • Challenging Dyson Capital Projects team concepts in order to achieve the optimum design within the boundaries of time, specification and cost
  • Maintaining and managing the security team project risks, actions and issues trackers
  • Acting as the principal point of contact for the Hullavington security project. Attendance at project meetings as appropriate
  • Application of the Security Project Management (SPM) system to facilitate process improvements to Project Management
  • Establishing and managing effective partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders; including consultants and delivery partners who will provide professional and technical advice and expertise
  • Preparation of project briefs, plans, reports and status updates
  • Managing expectations for the delivery of the security inputs to the project. Escalating issues on deadlines and advising appropriate corrective action 
  • Facilitating the management of the portfolio of security projects. This includes identifying dependencies between projects, particularly in respect of resources, and the reporting of programme level issues and risks

  • Understanding and aligning activities with the Dyson values, Code of Ethics and other Dyson working practices
  • Collate and provide statistical security project data to ensure delivery to the KPI standard and to inform Return of Investment (ROI) activities
  • Awareness of the Group Security Management System (SeMS)
  • Understanding and applying security threat methodology


  • Large security project stakeholder engagement
  • Multi-functional security skills required (including detailed knowledge of technical, physical and information security)
  • At least 5 years’ experience of broad stakeholder led project management activities
  • Hold a relevant project management qualification
  • Demonstrable global project management experience, including detailed expert knowledge of the management and delivery of complex capital projects 
  • Proven experience in all facets of security project management (including, estimating and planning, risk management, status reporting, budget tracking, benefits analysis, stakeholder management and communication, resource management) 
  • Preparation of project briefs and reports
  • Excellent team building skills with proven experience of leadership and successful partnering with third party suppliers and stakeholders (i.e. designers, architects, statutory and regulatory bodies, consultants and contractors).
  • Competent computer skills with experience in using Microsoft Office applications and database packages. Ability to create structured excel spread sheets to capture analytical data effectively
  • Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload in a fast changing environment
  • Ability to deal tactfully, calmly and effectively with a wide range of issues
  • Ability to work as part of a large team with a Gold Standard ambition
  • Ability to embrace change on a daily basis 
  • The ability to work under pressure and within tight timescales
