Description

This role is to provide support within Dyson’s Customs and International Trade (CIT) team for the new Electric Vehicle (EV) Business, reporting to the Global Head of Customs. This role will initially be based in the UK (Hullavington) supporting the evolution of the new EV business and CIT function, with future integration into the other EV manufacturing and operational entities in Singapore.
This is an 18 month Fixed Term Contract.

Accountabilities

To locally (Hullavington) champion CIT compliance and operations. To provide support to the Senior Customs Manager and  EV business functions including the Research, Design and Development (RDD) teams, ensuring effective CIT compliance, fluidity within the supply chain and maximising duty savings, where applicable. 
To collaborate and support the wider Dyson's EV operations and business functions, suppliers, distributors, and markets.  To assist in the direction and understanding of CIT compliance, facilitation and procedures within the Dyson operational markets (UK/EU/SG/CN including ASEAN countries).  Assist in delivering training and knowledge transfer of the relative CIT facilitation regimes and compliance programs. 
To assist in the project management and implementation of the new EV customs software solution, including integration with the EV MRP/MES systems within the manufacturing entity.  To support the design and implement the EV CIT business controls and processes, including Standard Operating Procedures/process guides.  Become the ‘centre of excellence’/customs systems expert.  
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • To locally (Hullavington) champion CIT compliance and procedures including maximise duty savings where applicable
  • To support the CIT software solution implementation project, ensuring delivery of the key milestones and objectives are achieved 
  • Support the design and implement of CIT monitoring, controls and reporting.  To include the implementations of processes and procedures documentation
  • Provide CIT technical support to the wider EV business
  • To assist in the application of the appropriate Classification, Valuation, and Origin methodologies and rules within the new EV business models and supply chain flows
  • Support the optimisation of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)/ Preferential Country of Origin requirements
  •  Support the EV Broker management
  • Provides Proactive Regulatory Updates and Analysis
  • Champions Risk Management and Controls for Customs
  • Champions Customs and International Trade Compliance Program
  • Support the implementation of the Export Control Program
  • Support the delivery on duty and excise savings

Skills

  • Customs and international trade experience required
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong time management skills to juggle competing priorities in a tight timeframe 
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task activities involving numerous details
  • Effective communication and problem solving skills 
  • Able to effectively business partner cross functionally and good influencing skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good database skills (SAP used in-house) and computer literacy in Microsoft office
  • Must be mobile
