As a Data & Insight Analyst you will form a key part of the data team embedded within the ‘Global Quality’ function at Dyson - which in turn is part of their world-class RDD facility. You will help deliver exciting and impactful new analysis to all markets within the global business and be a key player in helping to shape a new data-driven strategy for Dyson teams.

Accountabilities

As a Data & Insight Analyst you will be responsible for helping to conceive of new analysis from existing data sources and to design engaging and insightful visualisations and reporting concepts in collaboration with other members of the Global Quality data team. You will have a strong ‘customer’ focus and be adept at telling stories with data, both visually and verbally. A strong communicator, you should be comfortable dealing with all levels of the organisation and tailoring your approach accordingly. You will make it your business to improve the data team’s current analytical offering and help to define the communication and publishing strategy for key business information from a wide range of data domains (e.g. Consumer reviews, CRM, Connected Machine Data). 
It will require you to be driven and adept at working independently as well as part of a wider team. This role will report into a Lead Analyst/ Analytics Manager within the Data team and will involve, but not be limited to: 
  • Collaborating with a team of data analysts and data engineers right across the business, from RDD to Commercial to IT.
  • Translating large data sets into engaging visualisations and dashboards for internal consumption. 
  • Designing & building user-friendly reports and interfaces to show varying types of data and insight. 
  • Communicating complex ideas to a wide ranging audience. 
  • Supporting the delivery of actionable insights to influence internal business decisions. 
  • Collaborating closely with data engineers to transform and extract relevant data in a format that facilitates analysis

Skills

  • Experienced data analyst adept at gathering requirements and translating those into actions
  • Strong command of SQL querying language 
  • Experience in working with Tableau or other comparable data visualisation software 
  • A keen interest in information design and communication 
  • Confident in connecting to a wide range of data platforms e.g. Microsoft SQL server, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery 
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, happy working at all levels of the organisation 
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any one time, and deliver results to deadlines 
Beneficial:
