Senior Electronic Manufacturing Test Engineer

The role of the Senior Electronic Manufacturing Test Engineer is to develop equipment specification related to PCBA functional test system intended for Dyson contract manufacturer for volume PCBA’s production. 


  • Work globally with dyson manufacturing engineering team and test development engineering for the development of a PCBA functional test specification and in-circuit test system.
  • Work closely with and/or lead the electronics test development team to develop a manufacturing test strategy compatible with the needs of the business, and bringing value to the manufacturing process. 
  • Ensure proper handshake of the electronics equipment from the subcontractor to the manufacturing site
  • Preparing project plan for PCBA manufacturing test system considering design, development, integration, qualification and deployment. 
  • Review PCBA functional test specification and design requirement for product/pcba.
  • Optimise manufacturing cycle time by optimising functional test specification/requirement.
  • Work closely with our suppliers, to ensure successful deployment of test solutions supporting engineering builds and mass production. 
  • Review process capability using SPC tools and production test parameter for optimization base on manufacturing stability. 
  • Review production Pareto defects related to manufacturing test solution. 
  • Engage test suppliers for any repair and maintenance being required for manufacturing test solution.  
  • Generate final Equipment test specification for supplier RFQ purposes.
  • Review supplier technical proposal for PCBA manufacturing test solution (FCT).
  • Owning the relationship & development plans with external test system integrators & suppliers 
  • Review and approve the Gauge R&R, test coverage reports, measurement system analysis, capability studies.
  • Raise any DFT/DFM issues back towards the respective design team(s)
  • Drives with sense of urgency the daily resolution of electronics manufacturing quality and productivity problems with the required support of the respective functional teams.
  • Drive continuous yield improvement by working with contract manufacturer, supplier, test development and R&D.
  • Actively ensure training and development of assigned personnel to maximize productivity and efficiency in the areas of responsibility.
  • Review all supplier quotations looking from solution and implementation. 
  • Prepare CAPEX estimates for manufacturing test solution.


  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • At least 5 to 10 years of working experience in an electronics manufacturing environment with great knowledge and understanding of pcba manufacturing test solution.
  • Excellent communication skills with good command of written & spoken English.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external staff and relevant stakeholders.
  • Team player with a strong level of commitment to project deliverables.
  • Work with stakeholders in all functions to improve product cost, quality and delivery.
  • Deliver accurate project planning and reporting including budget vs. actual status, project plans, milestone reporting, lessons learned and RAG status.
  • Thinks out of box to tackle critical situation.
  • Capable of mitigating risk on projects time plan.
  • Manage and resolve project-related issues, risks, and changes.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced and intellectually challenging work environment.
  • Ability to multi task effectively in a fast paced environment.
