Description

Dyson has an opportunity for a Battery Test Engineer to join the highly successful Powertrain group within in its Electric Vehicle Engineering Team based at its Hullavington HQ.


Accountabilities

  • Liaise with Battery DVP Engineers to identify test requirements
  • Write test scripts for AVL battery testbeds and cell cyclers
  • Work with testbed operators to carry out tests
  • Fault fix testing issues as required
  • Analyse test data and report on test results
  • Schedule and monitor progress of testing activities
  • Create and maintain test activity risk assessments and safe operating procedures
  • Prepare plans and presentations for key milestone events as required
  • Ensure timely delivery of testing to support the overall programme timing

Skills

  • A degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent (other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered)
  • Experience of battery/module/cell testing
  • Experience of AVL battery testbeds is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience of automotive high voltage safety is beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in an appropriate, concise and accurate fashion, both in writing and verbally
  • Strong team work and influencing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and plan effectively when working with a variety of project teams in an often high-pressure, competitive environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take on new challenges readily, possess a hands on approach and work with a can-do attitude
