Description

Dyson has an opportunity for a Senior Powertrain Verification Engineer to join the highly successful Powertrain group within in its Electric Vehicle Engineering Team based at its Hullavington HQ.

Accountabilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual to take ownership of powertrain test and validation for Dyson’s first EV. The Senior Powertrain Verification Engineer will lead the creation and implementation of powertrain (battery, inverter, motor, gearbox, charger, VCU, and HV electrical distribution system) DVPs. The role requires a good knowledge of BEV powertrains and the complete design verification process. As a senior engineer you will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of test and verification processes, and their integration to the wider engineering quality process. Responsibilities: • Lead the creation of powertrain DVPs and test methods, collaborating with feature and attribute leads • Coordinate and plan DVP activities to deliver robust powertrain verification • Identify and liaise with external test facilities where required • Liaise with internal test facilities • Track and report on DVP progress • Prepare plans and presentations for key milestone events as required

Skills

• A degree in engineering or relevant science • Good understanding of EV powertrain systems and components • Experience in powertrain DVP creation (from requirements, DFMEAs, quality history reviews, etc) and implementation, preferably for EVs • Ability to communicate complex technical issues in an appropriate, concise and accurate fashion, both in writing and verbally • Strong interpersonal skills to build productive working relationships and influence others • Ability to multi-task and plan effectively when working with a variety of project teams in an often high-pressure, competitive environment • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take on new challenges readily, possess a hands on approach and work with a can-do attitude
