Senior Fluid Treatment Scientist

You’ll generate innovative concepts basedon scientific theory through experimental test and simulation – designing, building and testing prototypes, before analysing performance and communicating findings.

About the role

As Senior Research Scientist, you will enable the delivery of novel fluid treatment technologies from concept to an integrated solution. Working within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, you will apply your broad expertise to deliver research that impacts new Dyson products.


  • Propose, research and develop new technology solutions in gas and water purification to drive New Products
  • Lead collaborative project teams with peers across Dyson departments to deliver research projects that align with product development strategy
  • Deliver specialist knowledge to the senior management team in research and project reviews 
  • Problem solving at technology and product levels
  • Develop test and analysis capability to the highest standard to enhance Dyson’s ability to evaluate gas and water treatment technologies

About you

  • Qualified in Chemistry to at least masters level or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in filtration or purification desirable 
  • Experience of catalysis or electrocatalysis desirable
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts
  • Have prior experience of cross-discipline research projects involving multiple collaborators, desirably in the chemical industry
