Description

This role will use experience of working in large or global legal teams, and managing transformation of legal operations and processes. The role will focus on comprehensively shaping programme plans, gaining the necessary approvals and resourcing to execute, and delivering these plans effectively. The role requires an ability to build relationships, drive people-process-technology change, and manage internal and external suppliers.

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Director of Legal Operations, you will be responsible for:
  • Establishing the scope of programmes impacting our global legal services 
  • Gaining sponsorship and support from legal department leads for change
  • Shaping the legal programme roadmap and the measures of success
  • Managing internal approvals, budget and resourcing
  • Managing external suppliers and their performance, including applying contract and financial management
  • Establishing a regular cadence to legal programmes delivery
  • Leading Legal Operations Specialist(s)

Skills

Candidates will bring a combination of legal know-how, business rigour and discipline, and strong programme management skills. A strong understanding of legal operations and changes legal teams are typically making to their approach to delivering legal services will be essential. Candidates should bring innovation, ability to change the status quo and relationship skills that collectively enable the candidate to deliver change to our legal services and ways of working. Legal service mapping, process design and technology skills would be advantageous.

Essential:
  • First class programme planning and delivery execution experience
  • Outstanding budget, resourcing and supplier management skills
  • Understanding of legal services, processes and technology
  • Ability to deliver innovation and sustainable change
  • Strong data analysis, financial and contract management skills
Desirable:
  • A Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Extended career experience in programme delivery
