Dyson Robotics Research seeks an excellent technician with experience applying rigorous methods to help Roboticists with daily mechatronics assemblies. Reporting to the Robotics Research Team Manager, you will be working within a cutting edge Robotics & Machine Learning team developing and delivering bespoke solutions on projects never seen before.
The role will be within the Research Robotics team at Dyson and will be a mix of data capture and analysis as well as some laboratory and workshop based activities. As part of the role the candidate will be working closely with engineers from Research and be a true asset for the team. Key to this will be practical and analytical problem solving skills and a collaborative approach.
Assist the delivery of test rigs and prototypes
Enable the delivery of test methodology
Risk assessment generation
Ensuring that good working practices are followed in the laboratory/workshop environment
Recording and analysis of test results to present to senior colleagues.
Designing, Assembling and deploying test rigs when needed
Passionate about robotics
Passion for practical engineering
Able to work in a fast paced environment
Willingness to learn new skills and methodologies
Ability to work with engineers to produce and develop test rigs
Proven practical problem solving ability
Hands on workshop skills
Rig build and troubleshooting experience
Awareness of workshop best practice, health and safety
Machine vision principles
Matlab, Labview, Python or C++Basic mechatronics/automation skills
Knowledge of electrical/electronics, programming IC
Read and understand mechanical and electronic schematics and drawings
