The Senior Procurement Manager role is key to shaping the exciting future of the Automotive Category within Dyson.  It provides the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to be part of our iconic brands first entry into automotive and to build the Procurement function to provide a professional, collaborative and best in class service to both our internal and external partners.


You will:
  • Responsible for developing and delivering the organisations Automotive strategy for Direct Procurement in relation to the Chassis, Interior and Environmental Control commodities.

  • Responsible for developing the organisations Automotive strategy for cross-functional Supplier Performance Management.  This will include the management of Business Risk, Cost, Quality, Delivery and Corporate Social Responsibility.

  • Responsible for managing cross-functional supplier partner selection to ensure the creation of a qualified supply base.

  • Provide leadership to the Procurement organisation to deliver the functional and business objectives, including but not limited to sourcing, contractual, cost, performance and timing requirements.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the management of commodity specific Procurement teams

  • Deputise for Head of Procurement as and when required

  • Support the development of tailored Training and Development Plans for the Procurement Department

  • Mentor Graduates and or new members of the Department, as and when required


Ideally you would be/have:

  • Qualified with a relevant Degree and/or to MCIPS
  • A strong commercial background within the Manufacturing or Automotive industry

  • Significant experienced in building and managing Procurement teams

  • Able to demonstrate a reasonable understanding of technical engineering relevant to designated commodity groups

  • Proficient negotiator with proven abilities in influencing people at all levels in the organisation

  • A knowledge of Global Free Trade Agreements would be a significant advantage

  • Self-motivated with an attention to detail, accurate and operates with the highest ethical standards.

  • Experienced in working collaboratively and cross-functionally and prepared to work hard to get the right result for Dyson

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills .

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills: to be able to assess problems thoroughly and drive logical conclusions

  • Willing to challenge convention – internally and externally

  • Integrity and confidence under pressure – always presenting the facts no matter what the circumstances

  • Fluent spoken and written English, a working knowledge of other languages would be an advantage
