Description

You'll be part of a newly formed department and provide best-in-class approach to shaping, guiding and educating Dyson on information & data governance processes. 
Capitalising on the entrepreneurial culture that pervades Dyson, you'll be part of team that is of a critical importance. You'll drive a practical, intuitive approach to data governance that works for the whole business but doesn’t constraints its flair and spirit. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for not only imparting the value and importance of good data governance but exciting people about the possibilities it affords.

Accountabilities

You will be an enabler of consumer engagement, helping to architect agile, commercially viable data whilst driving a refined culture of data ownership, accountability and responsibility in an organisation where compliance has not historically been at the forefront of mind. You will understand current data trends and influence future direction Dyson will take in helping the business navigate ever increasing global data complexity and arrive at the most appropriate, compliant, long-term solution.
The Senior Programme Manager (SPM) supports the Data Governance Director in the delivery of several data management, data privacy and data governance projects. 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance, data privacy or data management related PM role and has demonstrated the ability to deliver data management projects within a highly diverse and fast-paced environment. 
This role works in a matrix organisation on programmes like GDPR compliance, data classification, entitlement and data retention. 
Role holder will lead the delivery from our partners in various areas such as Information Security, HR, Product, Finance and Information Technology by working work together to address data related projects. 
Main Duties/Responsibilities: 
  • Develop a roadmap of data management related projects in the department
  • Provide perform capacity and resource planning for new project to ensure can be timescales and requirements are met
  • Perform planning, development and execution of data management projects  
  • Identify risks/issues and implement mitigation efforts 
  • Facilitate and run project working groups 
  • Manage data process related training and communication plans coordinating with other global teams as needed 
  • Effectively manage upwards to ensure tasks are completed relevant issues are escalated on time to keep projects on track 
  • Ensure stakeholder requests are responded to within agreed timescales
  • Ensure accurate audit trail maintained of all stakeholder engagement 
  • Support steering committee meetings needs 

Skills

Expected Profile
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of data management principles and methodologies and know how to apply them in practice. 
  • Demonstrate previous successful delivery of data projects in the data management, data privacy, data protection, information management and governance and/or compliance space 
  • Demonstrate strong experience of senior (Director and above) level of stakeholder management experience
  • Three or more years of Programme Management experience in a major organization
  • Hands-on approach to PM 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills both spoken and written

Technical Knowledge
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends 
  • Knowledge of data architecture and technology solutions

Programme Management
  • Ability to develop and execute initiative roll-out and project plan 
  • Ability to manage and coordinate complex tasks and project schedules; activity develop and manage RAID logs
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Highly developed skills in priority setting and alignment of project priorities with Departmental strategy
